Job Description

The Vice President of Global Marketing for the GI EndoTherapy Business Unit is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and driving the global upstream marketing strategy for Olympus’ GI EndoTherapy portfolio. This leader will set the long-term vision for the business, translate unmet clinical and customer needs into differentiated product and platform strategies, and ensure strong commercial readiness across regions. The role partners closely with R&D, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Finance, and Regional Commercial leaders to deliver sustainable growth, innovation leadership, and patient impact on a global scale.

Job Duties

The Vice President of Global Marketing will lead upstream global marketing activities across the GI EndoTherapy portfolio, with full accountability for portfolio strategy, lifecycle management, and innovation pipeline development. This role will oversee global teams responsible for market insight generation, segmentation, value proposition development, business case creation, and go-to-market strategy in collaboration with downstream regional marketing teams.

 

As a key member of the Global GI EndoTherapy Business Unit leadership team, the VP will shape strategic priorities, influence investment decisions, and drive alignment across functions and geographies. The position requires strong leadership presence, the ability to operate effectively in a matrixed global organization, and a balance of strategic vision with operational rigor.

 

The role will:

  • Define global upstream marketing strategies that align with Olympus’ corporate vision and GI EndoTherapy growth objectives and overall Business Unit Strategy.
  • Lead global portfolio strategy, including pipeline prioritization, lifecycle management, and long-range planning.
  • Translate customer, clinical, and market insights into compelling product strategies and differentiated value propositions.
  • Partner with R&D to guide innovation from concept through development, ensuring strong clinical relevance and commercial viability.
  • Drive financial rigor through robust business cases, forecasting, and return-on-investment analyses.
  • Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing global marketing organization, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and talent development.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, providing clear recommendations supported by data, market insight, and financial analysis.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • MBA with a concentration in Marketing required (or equivalent advanced business degree).
  • Minimum of 10 years of people management experience, including senior-level leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing global, cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Significant upstream/global marketing experience within medical devices, healthcare, or a similarly regulated, innovation-driven industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing global portfolio and product strategies.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence, inspire, and align diverse global teams.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with P&L management, business case development, and strategic investment decision-making.
  • Deep understanding of upstream marketing principles, including market assessment, segmentation, positioning, and lifecycle management.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex data and insights into clear, actionable strategies.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to Olympus’ mission of improving patient care and clinical outcomes.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position in this location is $210,319.00 - $336,510.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). 

 

Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position, including level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
