Job Description

The Strategy Associate is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to gain experience in both portfolio management and business strategy. As a member of the Strategy and Portfolio Management team, the Strategy Associate will be responsible for consolidating, communicating, and continuously refining Olympus’ Medical Strategy through the direct communication and collaboration with Divisional Strategy and BU Strategic Marketing members.  The Medical Strategy is a new direction across Olympus’ Therapeutic and Endoscopic Solutions Divisions (TSD and ESD), seeking to holistically grow Olympus as a leading MedTech company by elevating the Standard of Care in our core disease areas. The Qualified Candidate will serve as an internal consultant to the Medical Strategy’s main objectives and as core team member to its successful implementation. This individual will work closely with other members of Strategy & Portfolio Management, Program Management Office, Business Development and Finance departments to gather the right inputs to manage the workstreams of the Medical Strategy. The Strategy Associate will perform analyses, provide tactical support, develop our strategic narrative, and inform leadership across a broad range of projects of strategic importance to Olympus.

Job Duties

* Manage multiple high impact workstreams across the Olympus Medical Strategy.

 

* Communicate our strategic goals and objectives across the broader Olympus stakeholder groups.

 

* Continuously Consolidate & Refine the Medical Strategy, recommending expansion or changes in direction as appropriate.

 

* Responsible for analyses, compilation, verification of data integrity, development, and delivery of reports critical to Olympus’ strategic plan.

 

* Develop visual representations of gathered complex data/relationships to convey key information succinctly and unambiguously. Ensure that the methodology and assumptions used to develop the output are clearly documented, accurate and repeatable.

 

* Create, consolidate, and distribute key analyses and presentations.

 

* Conduct analysis of business trends and key performance indicators metrics.

 

* Contribute to the creation and refinement of impactful and compelling presentations summarizing the findings and recommendations of multiple workstreams.

 

* Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support strategy development and opportunity assessments.

 

* Provide support as a core team member to early-stage Product Development or Business Development initiatives.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Undergraduate degree in business, marketing, engineering, or quantitative field.

 

* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in strategy, business development, marketing, project management, research, or related field.

 

* Medical device experience required.

 

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Strong communication and presentation skills, with comfort and experience crafting impactful presentations to assist decision making

 

* Experience with corporate finance and familiarity with income statements, balance sheets, & statements of cashflow.

 

* Expert problem-solving skills with proven expertise in creating reports and tools to analyze and evaluate data (quantitative and qualitative).

 

* Excellent attention to detail to support monitoring the integrity of data at the detail and the summary level.

 

* Proven ability to retrieve, manipulate, analyze, and synthesize data from various sources.

 

* Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work under pressure, and adapt to unexpected changes.

 

* Expert knowledge of MS Office software applications, specifically PowerPoint, Excel; SharePoint and Power BI experience is a plus.

 

* Self-starter with a sense of ownership and passion to learn.
