Job Description

The Senior Software Engineer is senior level individual contributor to the agile team responsible for the designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions and products related to Olympus’ digital platform in surgical and endoscopy areas. This job involves working with Olympus technical staff and external consultants to become system expert to handle and find solutions to complex development and integration tasks. Understand long term product goals and technical direction and works within team to promote it.

Job Duties

* Design and development of .NET applications and user interfaces on Windows-based platform.

 

* Propose and demonstrate solution by performing research, feasibility analysis, problem definition, requirements, prototype development.

 

* Design and development of various software components, including, but not limited to the flow of information between proprietary hardware interfaces via socket and RS-232, and custom software interfaces via GRPC and HTTP/Rest.

 

* Interface with standardized medical communication interfaces such as HL7/DICOM.

 

* Document system architecture and/or design specifications.

 

* Work closely with test engineering to transition software and resolve issues during verification testing.

 

* Design and develop of cloud-based applications for IoT device management and telemetry.

 

* Define and write unit tests to resolve and prevent issues prior to system verification.

 

* Keeps up to date with technological development by studying and prop.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering or similar technical discipline; or, equivalent demonstrable experience.

 

* Minimum of 5 years as software engineer; demonstrated success developing a variety of software systems while taking on increasing responsibility for analysis, design, implementation, and deployment tasks.

 

* Occasional travel may be required.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Background in object oriented programming and strong understanding of using design patterns

 

* Demonstrated proficiency in development of .NET Core, .NET Standard, and .NET Full

 

* Experience as a software developer in one of the following core languages: .NET, C#, Javascript, Angular framework

 

* Experience using Visual Studio 2019 as a development environment

 

* Experience with ADO/GIT

 

* Experience with enterprise communications using WCF, GRPC, REST API

 

* Experience developing device communications and control software over RS232 IP and other control interfaces

 

* Experience using healthcare interfaces such as HL7/DICOM

 

* Experience with microservices architecture and development of containerized applications
