We are seeking a skilled and experienced (Senior) Software Engineer with expertise in C++ to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building Windows applications and contributing to the development of software solutions.

Job Duties

  • Software Development.
  • Write high-quality, secure, and maintainable code to deliver on agile user stories, ensuring that our platform is reliable and scalable. 
  • Develop and maintain unit tests with a high degree of code coverage, ensuring that our code is rigorously tested and optimized for performance. 
  • Perform code reviews on other team members' pull requests, providing constructive feedback and guidance to improve the quality of our code. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production, working closely with the team to identify and implement effective solutions. 
  • Create clear and concise documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and code comments that illustrate the type of code needed. 
  • Document each aspect of a system or application as a reference for future upgrades and maintenance, ensuring that our platform is easily maintainable and upgradable. 
  • Maintain compliance with applicable policies and procedures for areas such as Quality, Security, and Privacy, ensuring that our platform is secure and compliant with industry standards. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. 
  • Participate actively in sprint meetings, including planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to provide input and collaborate with the team. 
  • Utilize your expertise in C++ to design, develop, and maintain Windows applications. · Contribute to optimizing the core flow of applications, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  •  Follow the team process and lifecycle, adhering to best practices, coding standards, and version control guidelines. 
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and maintain continuous integration and delivery pipelines, leveraging tools like Azure Pipelines.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • A college or advanced educational degree is not necessarily required for this position.  We also value education achieved via work experience, coursework and training, and even self-guided learning.

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience as a Software Engineer, with a focus on C++ development.
  • Strong overlap with ET zone work hours, and some ability to overlap with CET zone work hours.
  • Traveling to visit Olympus sites and customers is a part of this job. Expect to travel about once a quarter, with some international travel.

 

Preferred:

  • Proven experience in building Windows applications. 
  • Strong knowledge of the Windows operating system, including systems, components, and architecture.
  • Expertise in C++ development, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Experience in operating internal and external communication management processes with autonomy and responsibility in a growing, multi-site, multi-disciplined organization.
  • Experience with GPU programming is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with DirectX is a plus. 
  • Experience maintaining and developing with CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Prior experience in medical device development is a plus.
  • Experience with real-time machine vision, computer vision or image processing is considered to be beneficial.
