Job Description

Olympus is seeking a Senior Engineering Product Owner (EPO) to participate as a member of Research & Development Agile development teams focused on the development of a highly innovative and industry leading Global AI platform. The AI platform is a medical device being built from the ground-up with a modern software & security architecture and the necessary hardware to execute multiple software apps including real -time video AI algorithms at the edge.

 

The EPO is a technical position and has the primary responsibility to elicit, analyze, validate, specify, verify, and manage the real needs of stakeholders including customers and end users. The EPO works with Product Management and other stakeholders to document the product’s vision and scope. Collaborates with scrum team to define, prioritize, and manage user needs and non-functional requirements to facilitate the refinement, traceability, and status of the requirements throughout project. Approves Def inition of Done has successf ully been
met. May participate in hand-on testing to provide user perspective feedback.

 

The Senior EPO leverages an advanced level of experience with relevant products, industry technologies (such as AI/ML, Cloud, etc.), and direct experience with deploying and supporting relevant products to customers.

Job Duties

* Elicit requirements from Product Managers, internal and external Stakeholders, and Program Managers to ensure Epics and Features are complete, accurate, and represent user needs, business needs, etc.

 

* Engage and facilitate technical discussions, problem-solving sessions, critical thinking and cross functional collaborations with Business Units related to the development of the global AI platform.

 

* Sprint planning.

 

* Collaborate with R&D architects and engineers to define, improve, and organize Features and assist development team by providing clarification.

 

* Maintain product backlog of Epics/Features.

 

* Participate in determining the Definition of Done.

 

* Ensure traceability is established between design elements in the design controls system.

 

* Participate in risk management activities to ensure mitigations are addressed in Features.

 

* Serve as a mentor and coach to members of the development team and to peers in relevant areas as appropriate to the need.

 

* Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, scientific fields, or computer science required; MBA or MS desired.

 

* Minimum of 5 years of software development required.

 

* Minimum of  5 years’ experience in Agile development required.

 

* Minimum of 5 years industry experience, preferably creating, deploying, and supporting surgical video products such as Endoscopes, IT system integration, and documentation systems required.

 

* Scrum certification

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

*  Minimum 5 years’ experience in Healthcare Medical Device or Medical IT industry is desired.

 

* Certified Scrum Product Owner

 

* Demonstrated experience in a medium to large Agile projects

 

* Experience in Jira, Azure DevOps, Jama Software

 

* Experience in medical device development,
