Job Description

The Senior Global Product Manager of Global Commercialization will be expected to deliver independent execution of all deliverables within their scope of responsibility. This individual will work collaboratively with peers across the globe within Olympus to align global commercial strategies to regional execution plans and create and execute global commercial strategies & product launch materials that include a global launch package, product value proposition refinement, training plans, sales collateral, and messaging to drive awareness. As a Senior Global Product Manager, the candidate will be providing clear direction to the team and all downstream regional partners on all business deliverable/requirements and design control requirements under their scope of responsibility. They will be required to develop an intimate knowledge of customer needs and market landscapes in both existing and emerging markets for the Global Surgical Devices Business Unit. Additionally, this individual will lead the voice of our messaging across the Surgical Device Business Unit to unlock the value of our end-to-end portfolio. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and self-motivated, with excellent analytic, facilitation, and communication skills (both oral and written). The Senior Global Product Manager will report into the Executive Director, Surgical Devices Business Unit.

Job Duties

* Develop commercial strategies to support growth of new product launches, geographic expansion of core portfolio products and optimization of launched products in market.


* Develop and execute global launch strategy for the Surgical Devices Business Unit with Region input and collaboration (e.g., type of events, potential channels, etc.).


* Partner with New Product Development counterpart to develop technical content for all global marketing materials.


* Create commercial response materials & strategies to address rising competitive threats & changing market trends.


* Develop comprehensive digital plans for awareness and lead generation campaigns (search, advertising, email, social media, landing pages, etc.) with measurable objectives.


* Refine product value proposition and marketing message working with Regional Product Managers focused on the individual product families, and the broader offering.


* Develop and deliver launch packages to regional partners that includes pitch packs, tools, and campaign collateral. Performs analyses on existing programs to determine future opportunities.


* Collaborate with MarCom organization to develop launch package materials for global launch packages in preparation for local customization/tailoring by regions (all materials should be 80% complete at hand-off).


* Develop launch training plan and provide requested content to COE/Regional Product managers for training events (internal and external support).


* Maintain responsibility and drive alignment of commercialization plans, budgets, timelines, risk assessment, progress, and risk mitigation proposals, as necessary.

Job Requirements



* Bachelor’s degree is required; Masters or MBA degree strongly preferred.


* Minimum 5 years of experience within medical devices, diagnostics, and/or pharmaceuticals.


* Minimum 6 years of business experience is required (ideal candidate will have a blend of new product development, marketing product innovation, upstream marketing).


* Strong clinical competency and analytical skills required.


* Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends on occasion.


* Travel 15%-30% (domestic and international).

* Knowledge and experience within Surgical devices, the Operating Room, and/or the Advanced Energy field is strongly preferred.


* Expert level in Customer Input Tools and Conducting Voice of Customer


* Outstanding written and verbal communication


* Proven track record identifying and developing Key Opinion Leader relationships


* Self-motivated individual with track record of establishing and executing on goals and successfully leading cross-functional teams


* Broad experience successfully developing new products in the medical device industry from concept to commercialization
