Job Description
The Design System is a new team in Olympus’s Digital Health unit, which will focus on quality, consistency, and improving the agility of the overall group. The Senior Product Designer, Design Systems will work as a critical contributor to lead the creation of a unified, cohesive set of UX, visual, and service design guidelines and foundational principals that will serve as a global standard for all digital health products at Olympus. This employee will work strategically as a partner with product management, engineering, and design leadership to define and work hands-on to build the future of design systems at Olympus.
Job Duties
- Create a unified, cohesive set of UX, visual, and service design guidelines and foundational principals that will serve as a global standard for all Digital Health products at Olympus.
- Work strategically as a partner with product, engineering, and design leadership to define the future of design systems at Olympus.
- Think big, and explore divergent concepts while understanding how to converge and build iteratively towards your vision.
- Create high-quality mockups and interactive prototypes to communicate your work. Use user research and data to inform your reasonings.
- Lead and advocate for the design system by sharing your work and presenting cross-functionally. Be able to precisely articulate design rationale and goals.
- Inspire the Digital Health team and our internal partners by bringing innovative ideas to the table and defining next-generation interfaces.
- Lead workshops, brainstorming sessions, design sprints, and other design thinking exercises .
- Mentor, coach, and support other designer on the team to maximize their usage of the design system and help improve their craft.
- Provide feedback and guidance to other designers during weekly design critiques.
- Help shape the culture of a growing design team.
- Assist with hiring within the design team by conducting portfolio reviews of qualified design candidates to help identify top talent.
- Push forward the craft of product design regarding our standards and approaches to design at Olympus.
- Help lead innovation across the organization by driving the adoption of user-cantered processes, methodologies, and tools
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in User Experience, Design, or related field required. Masters, PhD, or equivalent experience in User Experience, Design, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 4-7 years of experience working in UX/product design field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience designing user-centered responsive web applications.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience designing across multiple platforms (Web, Mobile, Embedded, etc.).
- Travel required (US and International).
- Availability to attend meeting with team members spread out around the globe.
Preferred:
- Highly proficient with current design and prototyping tools (Figma).
- Excellent presentation and documentation skills.
- Excellence in visual design craft.
- Ability to work with a low-ego, highly collaborative, cross-functional team.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Medical technology or healthcare experience preferred, although not required.
- Familiarity with front-end programming languages such as HTML and CSS.
- Familiarity with front-end design tools such as Ant Design
** The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $115,000 to $161,000, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position, including level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $115,026.00 - $161,036.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
