Job Description
The Senior Manager, Global Product Marketing is a member of the Global Respiratory Business Unit and is responsible for portfolio strategy and pipeline development of specified product lines within the Respiratory Business Unit. The primary focus of this position will be on the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) market as well as the Prolonged Air Leaks (PAL) patients using the SVS Endobronchial Valves Therapy product line. This leader will participate in cross-functional product teams and be responsible for defining user requirements, product features, marketing claims, clinical indications for use, marketing messaging as well as product positioning, segmentation and targeting. She / He will have close collaboration with Operations, Project Management, RA/QA, R&D, Sustaining, Supply Chain, Finance, HEMA (healthcare economics & market access) and Regional Marketing. Forecasting, market modelling, and development of business cases are essential parts of this position. This role requires a good understanding of clinical usage, market trends, competitive landscapes, and competitive technologies. She / He will work closely with Regional Marketing during requirement building and global strategy planning and oversee commercialization efforts of projects to ensure successful product launches and market adoption.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and self-motivated with excellent analytic, inter-personal, facilitation, and communication skills (both oral and written). Strong preference will be given to candidates with intense experience in FDA Class III implantable devices and PMA regulatory pathway. Candidates having the experience at the intersection of medical devices, SaaS software solutions and AI algorithms will be highly desired. The Global Senior Product Manager will report to the Director of Global Product Marketing.
Job Duties
- Build portfolio strategy of specific product line(s) and software solutions to ensure sustainable growth and long-term market leadership.
- Responsible for collaboration with ‘Software as a Service (SaaS) Solutions and Artificial Intelligence’ external business partners who are an integral part of SVS Endobronchial Valves sales process. Lead all facets of the relationship including (but not limited to) distribution agreements, product / solutions creation & sourcing, pricing, supply chain configurations, product claims, software upgrades, change notifications, product validation, forecasting and product lifecycle management.
- Execute voice of customer activities. Develop clear user requirements for future product & software solutions offerings and collaborate with regional partners/ HCPs /R&D to translate user needs into requirements.
- Collaborate with Market Intelligence to design and execute primary and secondary research to define user requirements and drive business portfolio decisions.
- Responsible for informing and leading internal cross-functional teams as well as regional marketing teams on business deliverables/requirements under scope of responsibility
- Responsible for strategic planning and driving alignment of plans, budgets, timelines, risk assessment, progress, and risk mitigation proposals as necessary according to business and market dynamics.
- Develop and manage relationships with HCP’s who will champion Olympus products and act as advisors in new product & software solutions development activities.
- Develop strong relationships and early collaboration with regional marketing teams to ensure successful product launches. Provide product related strategic and tactical support to the regional marketing teams all through the lifecycle of the product. This includes indications & claims, messaging & marketing collateral, segmentation & targeting, clinical evidence, HEMA initiatives and supply chain support.
- Develop in depth knowledge and clinical expertise in areas of responsibility. This includes being actively engaged in product trainings, field visits, industry trade shows, trainings, HCP engagements, etc.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s or MBA preferred
- Minimum 7 years’ experience with medical devices, diagnostics, corporate strategy, upstream marketing, downstream marketing, project management, analytics, R&D
- Travel of about 25 % (including international)
- Occasional evening and weekend work from home required
Preferred:
- Class III implantable medical device experience preferred
- Experience at the intersection of medical devices, SaaS software and AI algorithms highly preferred
- Other projects and duties as necessary and assigned
