Job Description

The Senior Maintenance Mechanic maintains and repairs the facility’s structure, equipment, and grounds, including plumbing, electrical and HVAC. He/ She performs skilled trades work, such as carpentry or painting in the construction, repair, or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures as directed by the facilities manager. He/ She works with manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring required in the production process. The incumbent makes periodic or special inspections of the premise and equipment to determine repair work necessary and reports such work to the facilities manager for approval. Works from blueprints, drawings, or rough sketches.

Job Duties

 In a typical day, you will:


* Perform minor repairs to plumbing fixtures, valves, and other devices.


* Perform basic electrical work and determines when an electrician is required.


* Perform painting, drywall, wallpaper, and other related repairs.


* Monitor contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications.


* Ability to pull work from a work order system which includes the creation of work orders.


* Perform basic maintenance with standard manufacturing equipment.


* Perform other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.


* Perform basic HVAC repairs 


* Participate in the Corporate Continuous Improvement Program.


* Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

High School Diploma or trade school equivalent work experience related to facilities and/or maintenance.


* Minimum of 5 years work experience in a maintenance position.


* Availability for occasional overtime required.


* 24 hour on call availability required. 



* Ability to lift 75 lbs.


* Microsoft word, excel, and Outlook experience preferred.


* Ability to communicate (oral and written) effectively with all levels of employees, contractors, and vendors.


* Ability to work additional hours as warranted by projects.


* Must be a strong problem solver.


* Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.
