Job Description

The Senior Global Product Manager will be expected to deliver highly independent execution of all upstream marketing responsibilities and deliverables within their scope of responsibility including, but not limited to, coordinating all aspects of pre-commercial product and market development of novel therapeutic respiratory devices and companion diagnostics such as software systems. This individual will work collaboratively with team members across Olympus to execute on existing product portfolio initiatives as well as generate business cases and proposals to inform and influence the portfolio and product roadmap. This role requires the ability to develop an intimate knowledge of customer needs and market landscapes in both existing and emerging markets including, but not limited to, voice of customer research, competitive landscaping solution development, forecasting, and modelling global launch strategy and support needs. This role includes the ability to identify and inform on new technology, product and service opportunities for both internal R&D development as well as partnership opportunities. Externally the incumbent will be expected to interface regularly with the regional marketing teams at Olympus, healthcare professionals, and outside vendors to support and drive the business. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and self-motivated, with excellent analytic, facilitation, and communication skills (both oral and written). The Senior Global Product Manager will report into the Director of Global Product Marketing.

Job Duties

* Ensure that all business requirements and stage gate deliverables for their assigned products are executed in an effective and timely manner for all projects under their scope of responsibility or under their team’s scope of responsibility.

* Inform and lead internal cross-functional teams as well as downstream regional partners at all levels on all business deliverable/requirements under their scope of responsibility. 

* Strategic planning for assigned deliverables and driving alignment of plans, budgets, timelines, risk assessment, progress, and risk mitigation proposals as necessary according to business and market dynamics. 

* Quantify and qualify global market opportunities for assigned product lines including addressable market size, clinical data landscapes, reimbursement landscapes, and pricing strategies. 

* Design and execute primary and secondary market research to define user requirements necessary to inform global and regional commercialization strategies.

* Develop market models backed by legitimate academic sources that reflect market size, opportunity, share capture, key assumptions revenue projections and pricing on a regional and global level.

* Develop and manage relationships with thought leaders who will champion Olympus products and act as advisors in the early new product development stages, concept stage, and commercialization phase. 

* Build strong relationships and early collaboration with downstream regional partners to ensure the success of product launches.

* Through interdependent partnering with Research and Product Development teams ensure voice-of-customer is understood and aligned with product design and functionality. 

* Coordinate with Development project teams in the evaluation of prototypes from benchtop through clinical testing.

* Ensure all packaging and labeling clearly articulates appropriate claims instructions and other information as necessary to meet marketing and compliance requirements.


* Maintain a strong pulse on market dynamics through participation in medical and industry conventions review of clinical journals and HCP interactions.

* Contribute to the development of the portfolio and product pipeline by staying close to their clinical space and understanding the competitive landscape and market dynamics.

* Support and participate in development and implementation of Olympus affiliate business and strategic planning initiatives.

* Work within the guidelines of the Olympus compliance programs when interacting with HCP's.

Job Requirements



* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in business, economics, marketing, engineering or related field is required,


* Minimum of 5 years of experience within medical devices, diagnostics, and/or pharmaceuticals.


* Minimum of 6 years of business experience is required. (ideal candidate will have a blend of R&D, new product development, marketing product innovation, downstream marketing sales)




* MBA or other graduate-level degree strongly preferred.


* Respiratory product experience preferred.
