Job Description

This position is responsible for the financial reporting maintenance and operating effectiveness of internal controls accounting analysis and financial product portfolio reporting related to the activities of the Olympus America Inc - Olympus Financial Services (FIS) and the Olympus Surgical Industrial America (OSIA) – Vendor Program. This position carries significant responsibility and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish the following duties and responsibilities.

Job Duties

* Lead process for annual budget and quarterly financial forecasts, managing timeline, deliverables and participants’ roles and responsibilities to ensure efficient and effective execution worldwide and error-free submissions to Olympus Tokyo (OT) and Olympus Corporation of the Americas (OCA).
 

* Direct month-end financial close process, managing timeline, roles and responsibilities, standard reporting and analysis, related presentations, and analysis across all sites. 
 

* Interact regularly with key BU Executives, controllers, accountants and other Olympus companies regarding financial reporting matters and various analysis requested to Corporate Finance.
 

* Spearhead insightful financial reporting and analysis provided to executive management, plant leadership, project managers, department managers and their direct reports. Regularly assess and implement processes and tools improvements that streamline production and meaningful commentary.
 

* Oversee Hyperion Planning application modifications and improvements to accommodate evolving business structure and requirements from OT and OCA. Manage analysts to ensure reports reflect current management reporting structures and portfolio views.
 

* Mentor and provide guidance to other Olympus divisions upon request to strengthen and improve the Finance and Planning function.
 

* Other essential duties as directed.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFCATIONS:

 

* Bachelor's degree required in Accounting or Finance.

 

 

* Minimum 10 years of financial experience, preferably in an international corporate setting interfacing with multiple divisions.

 

* Minimum of 3 years of managerial experience and/or direct mentorship/training of team members.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* MBA or CPA preferred. 

 

* Able to learn and apply IFRS accounting standards to financial reporting and analysis.
 

* Employs excellent written, verbal and visual presentation communication skills.
 

* Values and establishes effective interpersonal relationships across company.
 

* Exudes obsessive commitment to data accuracy, completeness, consistency and timeliness; detail-oriented.
