Job Description

Provide technical leadership for verification, test automation, and quality engineering activities supporting the OlySense AI Project, one of the organization’s key strategic initiatives.

The Principal Engineer will serve as a technical leader within the Test Engineering organization, defining and driving scalable test strategies, automation architectures, engineering best practices, and verification approaches across complex software and hardware systems.

This role requires deep technical expertise in software testing and automation, particularly in C++-based systems, combined with the ability to influence engineering direction across multiple teams. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality, and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure product requirements are testable, verification activities are robust, and appropriate documentation and engineering processes are maintained.

The Principal Engineer will also mentor engineers, establish technical standards, identify opportunities for increased automation, and drive continuous improvements in test effectiveness, maintainability, reliability, and efficiency.

Job Duties

  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for software verification, test automation, and quality engineering activities across the OlySense AI Project.
  • Define, architect, and evolve scalable and maintainable test automation frameworks for complex software, embedded, and hardware-integrated systems.
  • Establish and drive the overall automation strategy, with a strong focus on increasing automated verification and reducing reliance on repetitive manual testing.
  • Lead the development of risk-based verification and test strategies, ensuring appropriate coverage of functional, integration, system, regression, and performance requirements.
  • Perform and guide detailed test analysis of approved functional and system requirements, identifying test conditions, dependencies, risks, and coverage needs.
  • Lead requirements ambiguity and testability reviews, working with Systems and Software Engineering teams to improve requirement clarity, completeness, and verifiability.
  • Develop and review test plans, test cases, test procedures, traceability documentation, and test summary reports.
  • Provide technical oversight for exploratory, automated, integration, system, and regression testing based on functional requirements, architecture, and design documentation.
  • Design and maintain functional models and other engineering representations that augment natural-language requirements and improve verification coverage.
  • Develop advanced test infrastructure, simulators, mocks, test harnesses, and supporting tools required to verify complex software and hardware interactions.
  • Establish best practices for C++ unit testing, mocking, component testing, integration testing, and automated system verification.
  • Drive integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, enabling reliable and repeatable execution of verification and regression testing.
  • Analyze complex software and system failures, identify root causes, and collaborate with engineering teams to improve product architecture, reliability, observability, and testability.
  • Identify gaps in existing verification approaches and introduce innovative tools, techniques, and technologies that improve test effectiveness and engineering productivity.
  • Define and promote engineering standards for test code quality, maintainability, reliability, scalability, and documentation.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and subject-matter expert, coaching engineers on automation architecture, C++ testing, mocking strategies, test design, and engineering best practices.
  • Conduct technical and design reviews and provide guidance on architecture and implementation decisions that affect system testability and verification.
  • Collaborate across Software, Systems, Test, Quality, and Program teams to ensure verification activities meet project objectives and applicable development processes.
  • Influence technical decisions across teams and help establish the long-term technical roadmap for test automation and verification capabilities.
