We are currently looking for an intern to join our Digital Ecosystem team for our summer 2026 program, which will run from May 18 - July 31. You must be willing to work at least 2 days/week at our Westborough, MA office (note: Olympus does not provide relocation assistance or stipends). This is a full-time opportunity involving 40 hours per week at an hourly rate of $28.50.
Experiences that grow you—and your career.
Our company is expanding the strategic data capabilities of our endoscopy medical device platform to unlock new value for healthcare systems, clinicians, IT leaders, and digital health partners. This internship focuses on evaluating commercial opportunities created by procedure data, imaging assets, device analytics, and interoperability—and shaping recommendations that strengthen competitive advantage.
The intern will analyze global trends in cloud-based platforms, AI-enabled imaging interpretation, workflow automation, and compliance expectations. By synthesizing insights from engineering, data strategy, cybersecurity, regulatory, and customer research, the intern will help translate platform investments into differentiated value propositions and market-facing narratives.
Job Duties
Some potential projects for this summer could include:
- Establish a fact-based view of the current data platform baseline, including existing capabilities, contractual constraints, partner dependencies, and ecosystem roles.
- Gather and synthesize inputs from engineering, product, data strategy, and commercial teams to define what is realistically deliverable today.
- Document the "as-is" state across data capture, interoperability, storage, analytics enablement, and compliance.
- Define and research a "to-be" state based on market trends, competitor case studies, proxy company approaches, customer needs, regulatory direction, and competitive positioning.
- Identify and prioritize gaps between current and future state that represent the highest commercial and strategic leverage.
- Organize, facilitate a workshop, and synthesize outputs into tangible actions.
- Translate those gaps into roadmap recommendations, value narratives, and investment rationale tied to competitive advantage.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Must be enrolled in a full time undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited 4-year institution.
- Preferred fields of study include Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or related discipline.
- Must complete two (2) years of undergrad before the internship begins and graduate after the internship ends.
- Must not now or in the future require immigration-related sponsorship.**

Accordingly, Olympus discourages applicants for such positions who will, either now or in the future, require Olympus sponsorship in order to obtain or maintain lawful employment authorization.
- Demonstrated ability to balance academic and extracurricular commitments (i.e. work experience, clubs, volunteer activities, teams, etc.).
- Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts such as data flows, cloud platforms, or systems integrations at a conceptual level.
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesize complex inputs into structured insights.
- Comfort working with ambiguity and building structure from incomplete information.
- Must be able to work well within a team and independently at times with limited guidance.
Preferred:
- Exposure to healthcare, medical devices, digital health, or regulated software environments.
