Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

We are looking for a Finance Intern to join our team in our Westborough, MA office. This position requires some on-site work. While onsite, this internship will follow all applicable COVID-19 work safety guidelines. 

This program will run from May 22 - August 4, 2023. This is a full-time opportunity involving 40 hours per week.

Job Duties

As a finance intern, you may have opportunities to work in the following or similar areas:

  • Finance
  • Accounting
  • Internal Audit
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Central Purchasing

Some projects our former Finance and Accounting Interns have contributed to include:

  • Comparing booking queries with lease portfolio to ensure account balances for aspects such as list price, discounts, and trade-in values are accurate
  • Frequently engaging with various departments to contribute to individuals finance-based projects
  • Designing and testing control attributes to ensure effectiveness
  • Identifying gaps in sponsorship and consulting fee reporting
  • Identifying departmental risks and communicating options to mitigate these risks
  • Ensuring Olympus takes all appropriate steps to abide by state and federal laws

A typical day for you will include:

  • Collaborating with your supervisor and team to complete role-related assignments and projects.
  • Actively engaging in and adding value to meetings and discussions.
  • Engaging in other duties, as necessary.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Must be enrolled in a full time undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited 4-year institution.

* Must complete sophomore year before the internship begins and graduate after the internship ends.

* Must not now or in the future require immigration-related sponsorship.**

* Demonstrated ability to balance academic and extracurricular commitments (i.e. work experience, clubs, volunteer activities, teams, etc.).

* Must possess excellent analytical and organizational skills.

* Must be proficient and have practical knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

* Must be able to work well within a team and independently at times with limited guidance.

* Experience with the fundamental principles of finance and/or accounting

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Preferred fields of study include Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline

* Knowledge of JSox and/or ACL/HighBond

* Basic understanding of internal audit process

* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and deadline-driven environment.

* Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize/execute multiple concurrent tasks.

* Strong, professional communication skills.

* Skilled in presentation development and public speaking.

* General curiosity and a desire to learn new material.
