Job Description

The Executive Director Market Development designs and implements in conjunction with regional leadership to set strategic direction in the growth of key markets focusing on large accounts and IDN’s. The role will implement strategies that support the growth of Olympus's Surgical Devices portfolio while fostering and building business relationships with other key internal and external stakeholders. This position will be responsible for collaboration with cross-functional teams on upstream and downstream marketing objectives as well as focus on key relationships. The Executive Director will use his/her expertise and experience to identify and execute a specific growth plan to optimize revenue and profit in the specific markets identified. Must have demonstrated experience interacting with all levels of management through oral and written communications.

Job Duties

* Perpetuate a culture of accountability and execution for success of ongoing business, market growth, and goal achievement.


* Participate in developing and executing annual sales plan in support of organization strategies and objectives.


* Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions.


* Work closely with the marketing function to establish successful strategy, programs and support.


* Develop and manage HCP relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities.


* Represent top management as an advocate of the company and the division.


* Travel for in-person meetings with customers and sales team to develop key relationships.


* Perform other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements



* Bachelor degree is required and MS/MBA is preferred.


* Minimum of 10 years of medical device or equivalent experience required, prior people leadership, history of working with large hospital accounts and/or IDN’s.


* 50% travel required.




* Strong understanding of the US hospital market, high business acumen.


* Self-motivated.


* High level communication.


* Ability to motivate others for a common purpose.


* Strong ability to present to large audiences.
