Job Description

This position will identify and improve the outcomes of R&D, Manufacturing, and operational processes to improve quality, drive efficiencies and reduce costs for the sites across the Olympus network. This role will manage implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies such as Lean, Kaizen, RCA/RCI, Six Sigma and will take the lead in fostering the development of Site Ambassadors, & Lean/Six Sigma Practitioners by being a leading, proactive change agent that drives a Continuous Improvement culture.

Job Duties

  • Governance oversight and support for site performance management groups meetings and reviews.
  • Be a role model in continuous improvement behaviors.
  • Assist in generating positive role model behavior stories/ambassadors for the sites.
  • Recognize the sites for continuous improvement wins.
  • Influence through ongoing partnership and active coaching at all levels of the sites. Partner and collaborate with leaders to discover Continuous Improvement opportunities, and to facilitate/lead the execution of significant Kaizen events.
  • Train and coach associates in LEAN (Yellow Belt) & Six Sigma (Green Belt) thinking and methodologies.
  • Build capabilities in Operational Excellence (LEAN/SIX SIGMA). Guarantee sustainability of scientific thinking by reaching sufficient penetration levels of people trained, certified and active users of tools. o Assist associates with execution of Green Belt (SIX SIGMA) projects through direct coaching across the sites.
  • Complete Green Belt projects, as identified and/or assigned, with limited Black Belt support by leading teams in the application of Lean and Six Sigma tools to solve business problems.
  • Develop projects through the DMAIC or Kaizen methodology, while considering potential project risks. o Support departmental improvement projects across the sites.
  • Maintain and support the development of our Process Excellence goals and objectives.
  • Provide progress reports for each site.
  • Perform other duties as needed. The position will be centrally based to support a geographic area for the business.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • A 4-year college degree (Bachelor’s Degree) or equivalent in a technical or science-related field is required.
  • Green Belt Certification is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Excellent use of Lean, RCA/RCI and Six Sigma methodologies. 
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in process optimization, operations, or business management.
  • Process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and RCA/RCI.
  • In this role, up to 30% travel should be expected, sometimes in short notice.

 

Preferred:

  • Training others in CI tools & methodologies is a plus.
  • Ability and desire to work in a remote, team-oriented environment.
  • Proven leadership, teamwork, collaboration and influencing skills; demonstrated initiative and assertiveness; strong computer skills and use of software applications such as MS Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio); strong written and oral communication skills, are required.
  • Ability to effectively engage people at all levels of the business, strong coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Strong relationship skills with the ability to foster a sense of community with cross-functional stakeholders.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $90,243.00 - $126,339.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position including: level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
