Job Description

Leads and manages the Human Capital competency across Olympus through the Center of Excellence specific to complaint handling and adverse event to be best in class for Olympus’s handling of product complaints. Implements training strategies that are designed to support the Center of Excellence objectives. Responsible for the development, delivery, evaluation, and administration of training that builds the Olympus capability to process complaints and adverse event in an efficient process and to ensure compliance to business processes.

Job Duties

* Lead the development, and manage, complaint handling and adverse event training program across Olympus through the Center of Excellence for Complaint Handling.

 

* Responsible for the design and delivery of training programs whether purchased from outside vendors or developed in-house.

 

* Manage outside vendors in terms of content scheduling and cost. Tailor content as needed for language and cultural differences.

 

* Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts on the learning needs and strategies across Olympus sites.

 

* Ability to lead indirect resources to develop training team network across Olympus.

 

* Complaint handling and adverse event Training Subject Matter Expert.

 

* Collaborates with Olympus business partners to align training needs and system tool usage to facilitate types of training and tracking.

 

* Training record administrator for Complaint Handling and Adverse Event processes.

 

* Maintains training records directly or indirectly through Olympus locations. Manages annual training initiatives.

 

* Ensure training requirements are met for on-boarding of new employees in the Center of Excellence and across Olympus locations.

 

* Serve on cross-site project teams consistent with company objectives to improve overall compliance performance to established metrics and requirements

 

* Identify and assess future and current training needs through performance analysis or compliance levels for complaint handling.

 

* Research emerging regulatory trends and changes in regulations and standards to incorporate into training programs.

 

* Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness and periodically report to senior management progress or issues. Develop competency measuring methods.

 

* Manage and take action on training completion metrics.

 

* Lead or support special quality and compliance projects as requested, and perform other assigned duties, as needed

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* A minimum of a 4-year college degree (Bachelor’s Degree) or equivalent in a technical or science-related field is required.

 

* Master’s Degree or equivalent is preferred, with preferred areas of study being in the Scientific or Engineering discipline.

 

* A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry is required.

 

* Minimum of 5 years of developing training program experience in a medical device or pharmaceutical environment, preferably to global users. Proven experience in the delivery of training with excellent presentation, public speaking, and facilitation skills.

 

* Working knowledge of ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 14971, SOR 98-282 CMDR (Canada), J-PAL (Japanese), European Medical Devices Directives, European Medical Devices Regulations, ANVISA 16/2013 (Brazil), TG(MD)R Sch3 (Australia), and any other regulations or standards applicable to the site is required.

 

* Approximately 30% travel, including globally.

 

* Availability to take evening and early morning teleconferences.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Thorough knowledge of adult learning training and applying development principles and techniques for success.

 

* Knowledge of the application of Learning Management Systems or tools.

 

* Knowledge and experience with current and emerging Learning Technologies preferred.

 

* Strong project management skills; strong computer skills and use of software applications such as MS Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); strong written and oral communication skills, are required.

 

* Global communication capabilities.

 

* Experience in working within or with Japanese companies is desirable.
