Job Description

The Sales Engineer will directly contribute to the growth and support of our non-destructive testing (NDT) solutions with a focus on ultrasonic testing (UT) equipment.  They will help drive the sales process to customers including initial leads and opportunities, pricing, and quotations, and also handle post-sales assistance.  This job requires an aptitude to understand technical application information, know how customers use the products, and provide specific information and solutions to both customers and sales staff.  Communication of information on different aspects of an application and at different points during the sales process is critical to building value in a piece of capital equipment.

Job Duties


*  Provide technical sales support to sales representatives, customers and in-house staff.


*  Prepare and distribute competitive comparison documents provided by factories' Product Manager and Sales Engineer.


*  Identify customer needs and sales opportunities to maximize and grow sales.


*  Support the product development team during customer evaluations and tests.


*  Write reference documents for ease of reference for the sales team and coordinate distribution through iPad or other media.


*  Maintain and help improve product descriptions under the naming conventions set by the product manager.


*  Help prepare training, show and sales presentations for the sales and product management team that will be used during training conferences sales calls and open houses. Coordinate training programs for customers, sales team and in-house staff.


*  Provide day-to-day technical information for leads quotes and orders.


*  Assist with product promotional and advertising activities.


*  Provide value added sold services such as Reporting Software generation or other support services.


*  Travel to customer sites to support system training. May require travel within the United States Canada and Latin America.

Job Requirements




*  4 year technical degree required; mechanical or electrical engineering degree preferred.


*  Excellent written and verbal skills to effectively communicate with customers and in-house staff.


*  High proficiency with MS Word Excel and PowerPoint required.




*  Prefer 1+ years of experience in a technical sales support role or technical document preparation role.


*  Able to work in a fast paced environment and meet critical deadlines.


*  Able to use strong analytical skills to make recommendations to customers engineering and sales team.


*  Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects working independently to meet deadlines.


*  Able to learn and use new business and technical software.


*  Able to understand the technical aspects of the product.


*  Able to understand the customer's application and use of the product.
