Production Test Technician

Job Description

This is an entry-level Production Test Technician position that performs the set-up, calibration, testing and replacement of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies. They determine and may assist developing test methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams. The Successful candidate tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems, and may rework assemblies and/or systems for testing. The Production Test Technician could provide data for technical reports summarizing findings and may recommending solutions to technical problems. Test Technician may assist in the building and set-up of specialized test equipment.

Job Duties

Acquire all established health and safety rules.


* Acquire job skills, learn company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks and adherence to production plan schedules while producing high quality products to standards.


* Adhere to policy and procedures to maintain a safe and clean work environment.


* Work on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little or no role in decision-making.


* Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.


* Work under close supervision.


* Act as a champion of the company’s Lean and Continuous Improvement programs.


* Time and attendance are in accordance with company policies, procedures and work area schedule.


* Complete work orders on schedule to ensure a constant flow of finished product to support customer service levels.


* Develop understanding of typical failure modes.


* Prepare and store test certifications.


* Report nonconforming product and material following company policies and established procedures.


* Establish wired electrical connections and install specified tuning components into assemblies (hand soldering).


* This position acts as the liaison to Manufacturing Operations.


* Meet established standard times for standard operations.


* Follow workorder activities established via manufacturing reports.


* Accurately record labor time to all work order operations into the Visual Labor Report.


* Participate in the company’s Lean and Continuous Improvement programs.


* Maintain work area 5s standards.

Job Requirements



* High School Degree or GED.


* Minimum of 0-1 years of related experience.



* Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment a plus.


* Have good manual dexterity.


* Computer skills and literacy.


* Strong attention to detail.


* Ability to manage multiple priorities and multiple tasks simultaneously.


* Strong verbal communication skills.


* Enjoy contributing to a diverse manufacturing group.
