Job Description

We are currently looking for an intern to join our Software Engineering team in our Waltham office. This program will run from May 24, 2021 to August 6, 2021. This is a full-time opportunity involving 40 hours per week.

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will contribute to our mission by working with the teams responsible for delivering product innovations.

Job Duties

Some projects our former interns have contributed to include:

 

*  Developing new software, optimizing code used for production purposes, and debugging new components.

 

*  Implementing machine learning to refine algorithms for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and prototyping purposes.

 

*  Evaluating patents to identify opportunities for improvement.

 

*  Researching state-of-the-art solutions for existing problems.

 

*  Contributing to the creation and implementation of innovative components to enhance client-side experiences and improve manufacturing efficiency. 

 

*  Creating test suite to maintain system robustness and improve release process.

 

*  Participating in discussions with product owners to learn how our customers use our projects.
 

 

A typical day for you will include:

 

* Collaborating with your supervisor and team to complete role-related assignments and projects.

 

* Actively engaging in and adding value to meetings and discussions.

 

* Engaging in other duties, as necessary.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

*  Must be enrolled in a full time undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited 4-year institution. Preferred fields of study include computer science or related fields.

 

*  Must complete sophomore year before the internship begins and graduate after the internship ends.


*  Demonstrated ability to balance academic and extracurricular commitments (i.e. work experience, clubs, volunteer activities, teams, etc.).

 

*  Basic engineering knowledge.

 

*  Must possess excellent analytical and organizational skills.

 

*  Must be proficient and have practical knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

*  Must be able to work well within a team and independently at times with limited guidance.

 

*  Must not now or in the future require immigration-related sponsorship.**

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


*  Experience with machine learning, pattern recognition, image processing, and/or robotics.

 

*  Experience with web technologies (JavaScript, Node.js, Angular, etc.).

 

*  Experience with programming languages/software (C++, C#, .NET, Git, OpenCV, Visual Studio, etc.).

 

*  Understanding of software and mobile application development processes.

 

*  Exposure to operating systems and/or networking.


*  Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and deadline-driven environment.

 

*  Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize/execute multiple concurrent tasks.

 

*  Strong, professional communication skills.

 

*  Skilled in presentation development and public speaking.

 

*  General curiosity and a desire to learn new material.
