Job Description

Performs engineering design, development and maintenance (sustaining) tasks and assist the teams in various phases of current projects. Work with a dynamic team of Systems, Software, Electrical & Mechanical engineers to improve existing products and create new best-in-class products. The work might involve benchtop and portable instrument products in XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) or XRD (X-Ray Diffraction) applications.

Job Duties

* Design, modify and evaluate mechanical parts and components or other hardware systems and applications under a senior engineer’s supervision.


* Create technical documentation for new, modified and engineered to order products.


* Responsible for CAD designs, creating ECN/ECO and First Article Inspections using the department’s configuration control system.


* Assist other engineers with conducting design validation and verification tests.

Job Requirements


* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Materials engineering.


* Minimum of 2 years with Bachelors or 0 experience with Masters, in the mechanical design, support and documentation of industrial products and instruments.



* Good skills with Solidworks or similar CAD/CAE tools, GD&T, PLM applications.


* Build, assemble, test and validate prototype and production designs.


* Knowledge of materials, basic engineering, statics & dynamics and manufacturing processes.


* Ability to work well individually and as a member of a team. Strong work ethics.


* Ability to creatively apply mechanical engineering knowledge to solve complex design problems efficiently and make rational data driven design decision.


*  Good attention to detail and core engineering principles.


*  Good verbal and written communication skills.


*  Ability to work with common machine shop tools and equipment.
