Job Description

The Quality Assurance Manager will manage the execution of activities; including providing quality engineering support - to ensure compliance with the quality system regulatory requirements and the business strategy of the company. This person will lead quality efforts to support new product development procurement and manufacturing, and oversee management responsibilities for quality engineering, quality techs and inspectors. Responsibilities include leadership and guidance; employee planning and assigning work direction. Qualifying suppliers according to company standards and administering a certified supplier program in receiving inspection to ensure cost effectiveness is also required. The Manager serves as a backup to the quality director including responsibilities as the management representative for quality audits.

Job Duties

*  Supervise Incoming Inspection personnel and quality team Management representative for IMS system.


*  Responsible for managing calibration system.


*  Review and response to customer quality complaints.


*  Point person for customer on-site quality audits.


*  Manages quality staff to support new product development.


*  Responsible for monitoring CONQ (cost of non-quality) Internal and external corrective actions internal audits managing the non- conformance program both internally and externally with suppliers.


*  Manages different quality tasks and activities between Design Engineering Program, Management Production, Production Engineering, and Product Management.


*  Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.


*  Exercises judgment in selecting methods techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.


*  Implement and report measurements and metrics that define current supplier quality performance and identify areas for improvement.


*  Containment and disposition of non-conforming material Implement changes resolve problems and establish procedures to enhance supplier quality and incoming inspection performance.


 *  Supplier assessment and qualification conducting on-site audits when required.


*  Administer the companies tool/equipment calibration program.


*  Assess Incoming Inspection metrology capabilities and make equipment and training recommendations.


*  Support the lean sigma strategy for continuous improvement.


Job Requirements



*  Bachelors degree in business or an engineering discipline required.


*  A minimum of 6 years of QC/QA experience in a manufacturing environment required.


*  Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.


*  Must have the ability to apply Quality tools and analysis in a manufacturing environment.


*  Ability to establish priorities and plan workloads of subordinates.


*  Knowledge of Lean concepts including but not limited to: 5S visual controls value stream mapping kaizen techniques, waste identification.


*  Accomplished lead-by-example tactical change agent with strong interpersonal skills.


*  Ability to communicate at all levels to maintain relationships and cooperation in pursuing organizational goals.


*  Must be able to influence negotiate and resolve conflicts to reach consensus around common goals.




*  Prior supervisory experience preferred.


*  Experience in a lean-sigma environment preferred.


*  Green belt or black belt certification a plus.


*  Functional knowledge of Supply Chain management, Production, New Product Introduction, and general business processes.
