Job Description


 The Maintenance Mechanic Maintains and repairs the facilities structure equipment and grounds plumbing electrical and HVAC. The Maintenance mechanic performs skilled trade work such as carpentry or painting in the construction repair or alteration of structures such as wall roofs or office fixtures as directed by the facilities manager. The Maintenance mechanic works with manufacturing and  process engineering in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring required in the production process. 

Job Duties


*  Performs minor repairs to plumbing fixtures valves and other devices within the facility.


*  Performs minor painting and drywall repairs.


*  Monitor contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications.


*  Ability to work from a work order system which includes the creation of work orders.


*   Performs basic maintenance with standards manufacturing equipment.


*  Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by either the Facilities Supervisor or Director of Facilities and Security.


*  Performs basic HVAC repair on various rooftop units Leiberts and exhaust fans.


*  Participates in the Corporate Continuous Improvement Program.


*  Availability for occasional overtime required. 24 hour on call availability required. .


*  This person acts as the liaison to Olympus Scientific Solutions internal customers and all third-party vendors.



Job Requirements




High School Diploma or trade school equivalent  work experience related to facilities and/or maintenance. 3-5 years work experience in a maintenance position.




*  Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook experience preferred.


*  Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment.


 *  Ability to communicate (oral and written) effectively with all levels of employee’s contractors and vendors.


*  Ability to lift 75 lbs. Ability to work additional hours as warranted by projects.


 *  Must be a strong problem solver.


*   Experience with computers and computer software
