Job Description

The Senior Manager of Strategic Marketing is a key member of the global ENT business unit and will manage the day-to-day activities to support the execution of the global ENT upstream marketing strategies. He/She will be responsible for strategy development and execution for the overall business segment, including global product marketing strategies. The incumbent will drive growth by identifying new or expanding market opportunities, while also creating proposals and strategies for optimizing those opportunities for ENT, and on occasion, for other Olympus products as needed and requested by leadership. He/She will collaborate with peers across the globe on market research and analysis and will lead initiatives to drive our TSD business objectives.

Job Duties

* Maintain a comprehensive understanding of customer needs, market trends, competitive landscape, technology trends, identification and assessment of significant growth opportunities.


* Support the Director to create the vision and mission and layout the overall Global Portfolio Strategy and Strategic 5 year plan to successfully achieve targets. 


* Led all Strategic business plan process requirements including coordinating with key stakeholders, meetings, content development, system/tool related entry and action items.

* Compile, verify integrity of and analyze market data in order to develop insights, identify trends, and establish a roadmap of actions to capitalize on identified opportunities.

* Preparation of business cases including technology assessment, target market assessment, financial modelling and related due diligence. Develop visual representations of gathered complex data/relationships to convey key information succinctly and unambiguously.

* Collaborate and partner across functions and with peers across the globe, including Market Intelligence, Customer Insights, Finance, Business Development, Medical Affairs and regional Sales Business Centers and Downstream Marketing departments to gather the right inputs and align on key decisions using data.

* Assist Director in working with Business Development, identify potential areas and companies for strategic partnership, distribution, or M&A activity.

* Work with the Global Marketing team in an effort to develop and effectively execute the strategy and prioritization for life cycle management and sustaining activities.

* Support and/or manage all Discovery/Phase 0 initiatives through proposal milestones and collaborate heavily with the regional SBCs, Downstream Marketing and Business Development. Provide compelling presentations with a thorough understanding of global markets.

* Work closely with the Global BI/MI team to ensure that the right market data and competitive landscape assessments are available for the segment specifically and that there is a plan to fill gaps for key areas of focus (product segments) in all key regions of existing business and planned expansion.


* Manage HCP contracts as needed for the ENT Upstream Marketing Department. 


* Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements



* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Marketing, Engineering, or quantitative field.


* Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate strategy, upstream marketing, project management, analytics or related marketing experience in medical device field.


* Excellent analytical and complex problem-solving skills including attention to detail to support monitoring the integrity of data at the detail and the summary level.


* Thorough understanding of financial statements, market modelling, competitive analysis and budgeting.


* Ability to turn detailed data analyses into succinct, useful strategic insight.


* Outstanding written and verbal presentation and communication skills.


* Ability to achieve tangible results by working cross-functionally and collaboratively.


* Self-starter with a sense of ownership and passion to learn.


* Travel 30% (including international).



* Master's degree or MBA preferred.


* Minimum 7 years of experience in Medical device experience preferred.
