Job Description

The Senior Product Manager, Global Gynecology will be a global marketing leader and subject matter expert within the Global Gynecology business unit.  The right candidate will have a strong agility to successfully pivot between various responsibilities required of this role.

This individual will support the growth and success of the Gynecology business through a deep understanding of customer unmet needs, market & technology trends, and the competitive environment. S/He will help to identify future business opportunities and develop the commercial justification for strategic projects/products and technologies in partnership with the Global Gynecology and Regional Commercial Teams. The individual will lead assigned projects in close collaboration with Gynecology business unit and cross-functional partners to identify user requirements, interpret customer feedback, assess the clinical and health economic environment, and develop the value proposition and business case to achieve successful commercial launch. In addition, the role will support post-launch life cycle management requirements (e.g., product changes, phase outs, cost/pricing, margin improvements, operational excellence, etc.).

As Business Manager, this individual will partner with the Global Gynecology and Regional Commercial Teams to drive successful market entry, market penetration and financial profitability of launch products and the overall portfolio. S/He will ensure fulfillment of the annual business plan by aligning functional resources with forecasts and execute a long-term growth strategy for the business.

Job Duties

* Accountable for the end-to-end deliverables and successful execution of assigned strategic products/projects, working closely across all stakeholders  to ensure strategic fit, alignment, prioritization, and resource allocation.

 

* Create the business case for new product/solution proposals through strong market and financial models. 

 

* Develop disease and clinical expertise within Gynecology disease areas of focus by having a strong grasp of the market and competitive environment and by procedures and industry-related activities. 

 

* Understand customer unmet needs and user requirements using various methodologies such as voice of customer studies, primary and secondary research, and gaining procedural expertise.

 

* Cultivate strong relationships with the Gynecology HCP community.

 

* Understand the regional market landscape and collaborate with Regional Commercial Teams to ensure clear, consistent, evidence-backed messaging and the tools/programs to effectively communicate a product’s value proposition to customers.
 

* Continuously identify opportunities for category growth, geographical expansion, and portfolio/product optimization to build a sustainable and long-term market leadership position for the Gynecology busines unit.
 

* Closely collaborate with Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and External Suppliers for accurate product forecasting and demand planning to ensure the fulfillment of the business plan.
 

* Define business plans, carry out demand planning, monitor and analyze business execution and sales activities, identify corrective actions required, perform business reporting.
 

* Consistently review sales results of the portfolio, target new sales opportunities for existing products, and implement product life cycle strategies.
 

* Support Regional Commercial Teams to successfully achieve market launch/relaunch of new products as part of the market introduction team.
 

* Monitor portfolio/product performance in collaboration with Upstream Product Management and Regional Commercial Teams to drive market penetration and financial profitability, track and evaluate sales against the forecast, gather post-launch market feedback, support successful market rollouts, etc.
 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Bachelor’s Degree required with a major in Marketing, Business or related field, MBA preferred, technical and/or economics background ideal.

 

* Minimum 5 years marketing or business experience in the field of medical devices (Downstream or Upstream Marketing, Global or Regional Sales & Marketing, Business Management).
 

* Gynecology and medical device expertise, and working industry knowledge.

 

* Ability to travel within the domestic U.S. and internationally.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 

* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications, organizational skills; strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines.
 

* Strong self-awareness, leadership and problem-solving skills with proven ability to effectively collaborate/ influence/ facilitate teams.
 

* Proven experience leading early stage development teams including development of business case, market and financial modelling, reimbursement, value proposition.
 

* Data driven with strong analytical skills and demonstrated financial and strategic capabilities. 
 

* Expertise in user requirement identification, customer input/insight gathering, voice of customer & primary market research.
 

* Strong clinical knowledge and aptitude; comfortable with working with physicians in an OR and clinician office environment.
 

* Highly self-motivated with a sense of urgency and a drive for results.
 

* Highly effective at dealing with change and ambiguity as business needs shift, responding well under pressure and demonstrating flexibility while ensuring compliance.
