Job Description

This position is responsible for the business management addressing all aspects of commercializing products and services in the Americas including P&L responsibility forecasting product launch sales support training promotion and other areas of UROLOGY portfolio of products and services. Prior to commercialization the position is responsible to drive a strong collaborative relationship with Olympus Japan (OMSC) and upstream technical marketing to ensure that the optimal products are being developed in alignment with the needs of the targeted customers in the Americas. This position will set the long term strategy for the UROLOGY business through the Corporate Strategic Planning process and ensure alignment and execution through the annual business planning process. This person will be expected to work closely and productively with their counterparts and colleagues in Surgical and Endoscopic Sales and Marketing teams Service Marketing Financial Services Corporate Accounts Educational Services Marketing Services Strategic Marketing etc as well as others to maximize the realized opportunity for Olympus Medical in the Americas.

Job Duties

* Strategic Planning Develop long-term strategic plans for UROLOGY Business in the OR analyzing and validating the market opportunity and on the back of this defining a 5 year strategy and business plan with proposed sales structures.

 

* Work closely with all sales and marketing teams to ensure agreed upon alignment of strategies and maximize leveraging.

 

* Product Management – Direct the efforts of the product management team. The product management team is responsible for launching products to commercial success and building strong relationships with HCP'S and sales resources. Activities include the following; Development and management of marketing programs targeting national and local market segments. Coordinating and integrating the activities of various support services including the Corporate Accounts and financial services groups with marketing. Responding to and resolving product quality and customer service issues. Maintaining awareness of the competitive environment and reacting appropriately. Field visits to understand markets and desires from customers and sales resources.

 

* Product Planning –Directs product planning activity in conjunction with the R&D organization in Tokyo to develop successful new product launches. Activities include the following: Ensure that future products developed by Olympus accurately address the needs of OAI's market. Manage HCP'S relationships involving product development and market research activities. Integrate development activities of all product areas and coordinate with other product groups within MSG.

 

* Business Development Identify opportunities for new products and source products through local or Olympus channels. Support Olympus Tokyo in activities associated with the creation of alliances and acquisitions.

 

* P&L Accountability Sales revenue. Operating income. Expense budget. Resource management.

 

* Annual Business Plans Develop annual business plans that align with the long-term strategy of the entire UROLOGY product portfolio while meeting short- term objectives for revenue and operating income.

 

* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent knowledge required.  A Master's Degree is preferred.

 

* Minimum of 10 years of business or marketing experience preferably in commercial background and strategy ideally in the medical devices or a healthcare-related field.

 

* Must be able to travel domestically up to 40% and internationally for 2-3 trips per year. Travel will include occasional weekends.

 

* Work flexible hours as required.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Minimum of 2 years of healthcare sales preferred. Strong leadership skills and proven ability to effectively managing people.

 

* Strong organizational and team building skills.

 

* Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills.

 

* Robust computer skills and knowledge.

 

* Ability to interact positively with field personnel management physicians C-suite and customers at all levels.

 

* Individual must possess a high degree of motivation self- reliance and creativity.
