Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst maintains responsibility for developing, executing the financial strategic plans for the Repair organization across repair locations in US – San Jose & Bartlett to achieve the division’s business goals while fostering, promoting a culture that balances the necessary achievement of QCD metrics while optimizing P&L performance, and ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
Attaining these objectives will require coordinating efforts with various groups within Olympus, both inside and outside of the Endoscope Repair & Manufacturing Division, to achieve a unified approach to servicing our customers while ensuring that safety, quality and exceptional customer value are achieved.

Job Duties

* Assist the Director Finance in the preparation of monthly-consolidated financial statements, supplementary reports for internal use and monthly reporting packages for parent company use. Respond to various ad hoc requests for statutory financial information from parent company and auditors.
 

* Prepare Service Repairs annual production budget and quarterly / Monthly production forecasts. Conduct variance analysis, statistical analysis and other quantitative and qualitative assessments relating to financial performance.
 

* Provide Service Repair financial support and analysis on production costs and modelling Service Repairs production initiatives. Build/ Maintain Repair Business Financial Model.
 

* Facilitate the identification of problem areas and recommend process redesign to promote effective, efficient and economic business practices.
 

* Provide detailed monthly commentary on P&L cost fluctuations. Review and analyse standard costs, bills of material, labour routers and variances.
 

* Analyze business process requirements with information system requirements and capabilities to ensure efficient and effective use of information resources.
 

* Work with production to ensure projects programs are financially viable.
 

* Develop and generate management reports for management including KPI’s.
 

* Provide general business analysis, Capex Business cases including return on investment, NPV Payback.
 

* Prepare various journal entries and analysis worksheets to support month-end results.

 

*Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations in accordance with JSOX requirements.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business.

* Minimum of 6 years of related business accounting and  finance experience is required.

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

*  CPA and/or MBA and comprehensive understanding of cost accounting preferred.

 

* Demonstrated ability to use different modelling techniques, for consistent results.

 

* Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to analytical problems, making use of spreadsheets, databases, statistical packages, and graphics.
 

* Comprehensive knowledge of business operations, finance and IT systems is necessary.

 

* Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.
