Production & Inventory Manager

Job Description

The Production Planning Manager will direct and manage activities of the site as it pertains to production planning impacting the manufacturing facility. Champion the reliability journey for the sites. Responsibilities also include reviewing and developing any corrective actions stemming from Performance Metrics. The manager works with planners and value stream managers to create a realistic plan while meeting business and financial objectives.

Job Duties

* Strategy planning – Develop and execute strategic growth plan of OCA spare parts management and establishing the process in production control system by coordinating with related departments globally.

 

* Repair forecasting - Repair production forecasting (labor code level). Last time buy analysis for phase out discontinuation, hard stop discontinuation.

 

* Connect with Demand Planning and Supply Planning to ensure seamless flow of information and fully integrated approach to delivering key metrics – On time delivery, Inventory, DOH, Earned Hours and managing backorder recovery and communication.  

 

* Repair forecasting - Repair production forecasting (labor code level). Last time buy analysis ( for phase out discontinuation, hard stop discontinuation. Repair production planning by coordinating parts supply with Olympus Tokyo and other suppliers.

 

* Assess production capacity workloads.

 

* Initiate cost reduction program by coordinating with Olympus Toyko and technical support from Olympus Toyko coordinating PRG processes (creating forecast to OCA, procurement of OCA asset, logistics coordination of asset scopes and creating schedule of scope disassembly).  

 

* Responsible for meeting inventory targets, earned hours, backorders and end customer OTD metrics.

 

* Coach and guide teams / individuals to mine data from appropriate systems and able to carry out complex analysis for ad-hoc business requests.

 

* Manage regional to deliver continuous improvement in KPI’s.

 

* Develop, coach and guide team of planners and team leads in the execution, strategies and realization of departmental and company goals, advances succession planning by holding career conversations with staff.  Provide clear leadership for all site team.

 

* Support repair centers across the US Provide data for financial quarterly budgeting process, Inventory and Earned Hours

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* University bachelor’s degree or equivalent. MBA or equivalent preferred.

 

* Minimum of 5 years related experience.

 

* Minimum of 5 years supply chain experience.

 

* Experience with ERP (Oracle and Oracle Cloud & Advanced Planning Systems is desirable)

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Green Belt Six Sigma Certifications & Supply Chain Certification (APICS/ IBF) desirable.

 

* Ability to develop, coach and lead a team of planners and team leads in the execution, strategies, and realization of departmental and company goals.

 

* Ability to coach & develop accountable, diverse, and global leaders who inspire and motivate others.

 

* Ability to build collaborative teams and relationships, leading cross functional/ virtual teams where required.

 

* Ability to communicate clearly, making the complex clear and compelling to all levels of the organization in both written & oral forms.

 

* The ability to influence Manager & Director Levels within the organization and in a matrix environment.

 

* Ability to drive & apply continuous process improvement tools and improvements to large and complex projects.

 

* Working knowledge of financial processes.

 

* Organization skills and an aptitude for planning with exceptional attention to detail.

 

* Ability to translate complex situations into simple working solutions.
