Job Description

The Lead Electronic Technician will assist the Production Supervisor in directing the technicians and the work on the line to meet company goals. The incumbent must have detailed knowledge of the products processes and technician skill sets. This position assesses quality and productivity and coordinates improvement activities with the Production Supervisor. Working with the supervisor the Lead ensures that all training needs are met. The Technician Lead Electronic must be able to achieve quality cost and delivery goals established by the company and drive 5S initiatives and activity for their line. The Lead Technician will be expected to maintain acceptable standards for attendance and punctuality and as a condition of employment work overtime as needed. The lead will need to be proactive in taking independent action and have a high degree of initiative to resolve issues.

Job Duties

* Assigns daily repair targets to the technicians and manages the workflow to achieve throughput targets.

 

* Performs multiple repairs tasks covers absenteeism troubleshoots complex problems and trains newly hired technicians.

 

* Troubleshoots product and processes takes corrective action to identify problems and where appropriate makes repairs and initiatives change.

 

* Researches solves and communicates process issues involving repairs internally and with cooperation from other lines departments.

 

* Ensures completion of accurate service records flash reports.

 

* Discrepant Material Notices attendance records and other supplementation documentation both electronically and manually.

 

* Conducts and supports WIP and process audits to maintain and improve quality Be proactive in the quality systems and quality improvements.

 

* Proactively drives the quality systems quality improvements and5S programs as directed by production management.

 

* Provides feedback to Regulatory Affairs and Olympus Tokyo regarding recurring problems.

 

* Provides telephone support to field service engineers and customer service representatives to expedite site repairs.

 

* Manage availability of parts ordering supplies as necessary to avoid shortages.

 

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* An Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent knowledge required.

 

* A minimum of three years Lead or Supervisor experience in an electronic device repair production/manufacturing environment OR a minimum of five years experience as an internal candidate in the at least two years in the Electronics Technician II position.

 

* Work overtime as needed.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct trend analysis.

 

* Ability to perform multiple electronic device repair tasks.

 

* Skilled in team building goal achievement and motivation.

 

* Proficient knowledge of production techniques for Work in Process management.

 

* Basic knowledge of quality concepts and quality improvement techniques.

 

* Basic knowledge of parts acquisition and inventory control.

 

* Capability of training others in technical tasks and technician theory.
