Senior Supply Chain Planning Analyst I

Job Description

The Senior Demand and Supply Chain Planner is responsible for ensuring high service level to customers while achieving supply chain goals. They will work with marketing to forecast anticipated demand and partner with manufacturing to ensure that supply supports demand and achieves production efficiency. The DSCP is also responsible for maintaining an optimized inventory level that balances service level and cost.

Job Duties

* Review statistical forecast and collaborate with regional marketing and finance to update forecast based on market intelligence and product life cycle.


* Incorporate market event forecast not reflected in historical sales.


* Understand new product and repair forecast drivers.


* Ensure that key drivers and product cannibalization are incorporated into the forecast.


* Support budgeting process by identifying drivers and reconciling discrepancies between actuals S&OP plans and Budget.


* Perform analyses of trend data and adjust safety stocks as required consistent with established safety stock policy.


* Provide weekly/monthly and quarterly inventory reports as needed.


* Ensure all products have appropriate stock classification and ROP/min, max level to meet service level requirements.


* Conduct regular proactive analysis on inventory accuracy, slow moving, excess, and obsolete inventory, propose proper actions to stakeholders and execute accordingly.


* Develop and maintain regular cycle count procedure (initiate cycle counts, prepare variance reports, manage adjustments and provide monthly reports to management).


* Process inventory adjustments and inventory reclassifications in SAP.


* Review and report on inventory cost discrepancies and lot/serial number discrepancies and recommend and execute corrective actions as required.


* Act as liaison between Marketing, customer service, vendors and logistics team.


* Ensure high customer service level by projecting potential supply shortages and expedite delivery with manufacturing/suppliers to avoid backorder. Develop and track recovery plans.


* Communicate supply issues and recovery to key internal stakeholders. Allocate inventory to downstream distribution centers as needed.


* Perform analysis and provide input to launch supply strategy and decisions in partnership with global launch team and downstream supply chain.


* Work with launch team to ensure that new product master data is setup and product released on time to support launch timeline.


* Provide input to product rationalization analysis and manage Phase-in- phase-out.


* Support continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency for SC group by optimizing system setup business processes and group reporting.


* Write SOPs and perform training as required.


* Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements



* Bachelor's degree required with a concentration in Supply Chain or Business required.


* Minimum of  5-7 years of experience in demand planning and/or supply network planning.


* Ability to work flexible hours


* Hepatitis B vaccination is recommended for employees who are at risk for exposure to blood or other bodily fluids on the job. Service responsibilities include the handling of products and equipment that may have potentially come into contact with blood or bodily fluids.

* Experience utilizing ERP systems Oracle/SAP


* Expert at utilizing statistical forecasting software.


* Strong spreadsheet database and BI Reporting system skills.


* Lean Sigma training/working knowledge would be an asset
