Job Description

The Endoscopy Support Specialist will support repair service strategies within a territory with the goal of  providing customer assistance and reduce service costs while creating  opportunities to increase repair service market share. This position will provide basic technical core competency and will own presentation skills to help drive Olympus service business objectives. He/she will provide endoscopy support service that will strengthen the Olympus brand through building strong customer relationships. And help resolve customer concerns with existing repairs.

Job Duties

* Interact and communicate solutions with Customers, Sales Representatives, Field Service Specialists, Repair personnel, Service management and other Corporate personnel.


* Provide high level of customer support and endoscopy service & repair satisfaction.


* Conduct service support calls independently or in a team with other corporate personnel, as necessary.


* Report on calls and action to all stakeholders and monitor customer service & repair and provide solutions to reduce repair costs.


* Support Field sales by performing pre-contract inspections, identify poor performing contract accounts by analyzing business analyst reports, performing audits, and report findings to Corporate for actions.


* Obtain instruction and understanding of customer repair cost utilization analyses reports and learn how to review service contract performance and cost consumption versus elapsed time data.


* Develop skills to assist over consuming contract customers to improve equipment utilization and reduce repair costs through an asset management focused approach enhancing the performance and value of their Olympus endoscopy equipment.


* Conduct educational visit to help assist customer maintain equipment to Olympus standards for maximum operational performance.


* Establish and maintain customer rapport with key decision makers and gain experience to support their equipment service requirements.


* Becomes familiar with endoscopy equipment applications and products including the different electronics and reprocessing equipment used in Endoscopy.


* Develop consistent and repeatable equipment demonstrations and the proper and compliant methods to conduct customer-service programs.


* Develop a routine communication schedule with management to exchange information on daily and weekly activities.


* Submit all required field activity documentation including travel itineraries field service reports and expense reports timely accurately and as directed.


* Retain technical knowledge and be evaluated as having the ability to perform and meet all job responsibilities in order to progress beyond the training period.

Job Requirements



* BA/BS degree or equivalent knowledge and/or clinical position.


* Have a valid driver's license.


* Able to travel with overnight stays via automobile or air 




* Must be a self-starter and able to follow management direction.


* Independent work ethic and results attainment orientated.


* Task orientated requiring minimal supervision once initial training is completed.


* High level of personal organization.


* High level of customer interaction and customer service support.


* Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills(including public speaking)


* Technology literate (i.e. Microsoft Office Excel Word PowerPoint iPhone/iPad).


* Proficient in providing distinctive customer service and ability to exceed customer satisfaction.


* Strong communication skills both written and verbal.


* Demonstrated decision making ability and resolution management


* Perform under pressure and effectively communicate solutions to customers


* In addition to. the above qualifications the candidate must agree to: Cooperate and participate as an effective team member in creating a positive working environment. Ensure professional and timely communication with all internal/external customers in accordance with established Olympus protocols Recognize and adhere to established company and department policies and process.


* Hepatitis B vaccination is recommended for employees who are at risk for exposure to blood or other bodily fluids on the job. Service responsibilities include the handling of products and equipment that may have potentially come into contact with blood or bodily fluids. OCI requires that all employees working in areas that may be exposed to these risk either provide proof of the Twinrix (Hepatitis A and B) vaccination or sign a waiver accepting the possible risk of exposure from not being vaccinated.
