Job Description

The Microscopy Sales Consultant functions as a resource for the customer and identifies customer needs based upon detailed discussions. Using product and application knowledge, the incumbent provides solutions to meet their needs. Install and train customer using equipment purchased.

Job Duties

* Provide the customer with demonstration and application notes in order to address all needs and promote a complete solution.

 

* Meet or exceed sales targets in the growing research and clinical microscopy and digital imaging marketplaces.

 

* Work with the following as appropriate:

 

* Olympus representatives and marketing personnel, dealers and independent customers in order to meet sales targets.

 

* Prepare quotations for customers to include detailed software and digital imaging specifications  

 

* Attend trade and local shows as assigned.

 

* Work with Specialists to plan and conduct major presentations to explain theory and use of software and imaging products for high-end researchers.

 

* Develop proficiency with Net Suite to generate opportunities, quotes, and search for various data.

 

* Develop an understanding of the key accounts in the territory.  

 

* Develop relationships with leading customers and researchers in the territory in order to enhance the reputation of Olympus in this market.

 

* Attend advanced technical and sales training sessions.

 

* Maintain, manage and be accountable for sample account.

 

* Provide Sales Manager with weekly call reports via entries into CRM Calendar and weekly update of CRM open opportunities.

 

* Work to develop Olympus specifications for bids.Follow company policies, processes, SOPs, WIs etc…

 

* Follow company safety standards.

 

* Perform other duties assigned by management.
 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Bachelor's Degree (Biomedical / Life Sciences or Technical Science) is required.

 

* Minimum of 2 years of sales experience is required; Sales experience preferred in Life Science or related technical industry. 

 

* Have proficiency with administrative tools to include Outlook, Concur, SAP, Microsoft Office suite, etc.

 

* Have proficiency with NetSuite Calendar and time management skills.

 

* Must be willing to travel. 

 

* Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing.

 

* Must have own transportation with valid insurance.

 

* Must be Bilingual (English/French Canadian).

 

* Must be able to build internal & external relationships. 

 

* Perform other related essential duties as assigned.
