Training Specialist - Customer Operations

Job Description

The Training Specialist Customer Operations is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of training programs ranging from new hire, onboarding, soft skills, and technical training across all Customer Operations department locations including San Jose, CA, Bartlett, TN, Brooklyn Park, MN, and Center Valley, PA. Working with the manager, this position is responsible for needs and assessments identifying the best solutions/programs to implement for meeting all training needs of the business, and implementing those solutions and ensuring that all training is documented. This position will ensure that all of the new hire and advanced training materials and logistics are handled in a professional timely and cost effective manner.

Job Duties

* Facilitate all departmental new hire training across all locations.


* Create, edit, and maintain all new hire documentation, online courses, and additional materials for accuracy and effectiveness.


* Design, develop, and implement innovative instructionally sound training materials as required for all process updates, enhancements, policy changes or implementation, and required learning interventions with the goal of customer satisfaction.


* Establish and maintain professional relationships with Subject Matter Experts Develop and manage class schedules; organize logistics for hands on segments and virtual participation.


* Assist as directed with redesign of training content, delivery in classroom, and material development.


* Manage online learning within LMS Collaborate with Customer Operations leaders to create effective learning interventions based on audit results as needed.


* Assist with needs analysis and provide recommendations based on needs for changes and/or enhancements.


* Collaborate with manager to insure alignment of logistics for training events.


* In partnership with the manager, contribute to the development of a learning program to include an organized roadmap from new hire through the employee's lifecycle within the department.


* Assist with ideas and training materials for monthly departmental.


* Continuous Improvement classes/tips/tricks.


* Recommend additional learning interventions based on needs analyses and learning science.


* Partner with management to deliver on-going coaching and development opportunities for Customer Operations team members.


* Deliver specialized training programs as needed.


* Ensure that all training materials are routed for necessary marketing regulator and legal approval when needed.


* Perform all other special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements



* Bachelor's degree in Business Education or related field is preferred (equivalent job-related experience and knowledge will be considered).


* Minimum of 2 years experience in a corporate training function or role.


* National travel with overnight stays is required (up to 50%).




Project Management experience is a plus.


* Minimum of 3 years call center experience or related customer service/technical support/contract experience preferred.


* High level of computer literacy including MS Office and SAP with the ability to learn new programs quickly.


* Experience in using adult learning principles to design and teach.


* Strong classroom presentation and classroom management skills.


* Excellent verbal/written communication skills detail oriented and able to prioritize.


* Flexible creative results-oriented.


* Proven ability to provide constructive feedback and coaching.


* Cooperate and participate as an effective team member in creating a positive working environment.


* Ability to work well with all levels within the organization.


* Strong drive to advance learning and contribute to effective business processes with a focus on customer satisfaction.


* Proficiency in eLearning development tools such as Articulate Storyline is a plus.
