Job Description
Olympus Corporation of the Americas (“OCA”) is looking for a Trade Compliance Manager to mature the company’s controls, procedures, trainings and risk assessments for the company.
Job Duties
* Develop, implement, and maintain documented procedures ensuring regional compliance with Customs regulations and Olympus global trade policy and procedures.
* Operationalize Olympus global trade policy and procedures throughout the Americas Region.
* Conduct risk assessments and take action to implement corrective actions when inconsistencies and non- compliant activities are identified.
* Implement and communicate procedures across business units working cross-functionally to operationalize.
* Create trainings on Customs Regulations and company procedures using internal development tools and the company’s learning management system. Implement annual training plan.
* Manage valuation procedures to include reconciliation, assists and related party pricing.
* Serve as an in-house subject matter expert on Customs Regulations
* Interpret regulations for specific company related situations and provide logical actionable guidance.
* Continually utilize ACE data reporting to support projects, and compliance testing.
* Manage other special projects as needed.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor’s degree required.
* Minimum of 8 years of experience working in progressively challenging responsibilities within a trade compliance role, preferably within manufacturing or the medical equipment industry.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience managing and developing people.
* Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.): Minimal travel for company business.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Extensive knowledge of U.S. customs regulations.
* Good understanding of FDA import requirements.
* Must have data analytical and critical thinking skills and be detailed oriented.
* Excellent research, writing and effective verbal communication skills.
* Skilled in Microsoft office, especially excel. Advanced Knowledge of CBP’s Automated Commercial Environment (“ACE”).
