Job Description

Serves as internal functional expert and consultant to management regarding accounting and financial analyses for the entire lease population including leading the monthly accounting close and forecasting process. The position will also ensure proper revenue recognition and balance sheet presentation of the lease portfolio. 

Job Duties

  • Create valuable quantitative lease models and analyses to enhance and drive business decisions.
  • Analyzes and challenges various internal control matters, as they pertain to financial accounting and reporting for leasing.
  • Responsible for the review of accuracy of leasing related month end entries and account reconciliations
  • Leads the monthly closing process by preparing, uploading and posting journal entries.
  • Prepare analyses for complex accounting areas such as Revenue recognition, excess asset reserves, and IFRS lease accounting rules.
  • Perform valuations on lease residuals and trade-in equipment.
  • Analyzes budgets, forecasts and strategic plans through financial statements and various schedules so that management can project future leasing performance.
  • Analyzes company business and operational processes as they impact lease accounting and provide recommendations to management to ensure desired revenue recognition and accuracy of accounting entries.
  • Lead the drive for continuous improvement of the efficiency and accuracy of lease accounting.
  • All Other Essential Duties as directed.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum 8 years of accounting experience or equivalent experience is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS accounting rules is required, including but not limited to revenue recognition and lease accounting, as well as others.

 

Preferred:

  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Strong PC Skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Focus on prioritization skills as well as organization.  
  • Ability to multi-task and attention to detail are essential.
