Job Description
The Sr. Incentive Compensation Analyst calculates, verifies and reports incentive compensation to the field sales force in accordance with established incentive compensation programs and guidelines. They manage, maintain and pay compensation on a moderate number of complex compensation plans and components.
Job Duties
- Maintain the incentive compensation system, including records of sales force hierarchy, quotas, draws, and territory alignments.
- Lead monthly incentive compensation processes, including manual sales and commission adjustments, order/commission splits, transfers of sales/commission crediting and bonus and/or promotional calculations and entries.
- Finalize monthly incentive compensation payable for the Manger of Incentive Compensation to approve and submit to payroll for processing in accordance with payroll deadlines. Coordinate with other analysts to finalize the file and communicate to manager.
- Liaises with IT to institute logic changes, system enhancements and updates to incentive compensation system, including testing and validation of said changes.
- Engage with customers to research and accurately resolve commission and/or bonus payment related inquiries.
- Accountable for maintaining a high level of customer service, eliminating waste, and driving continuous process improvement.
- Gather sales compensation committee exception requests from other analysts, review for completeness.
- Execute necessary controls/processes for JSOX compliance, JSOX and audit.
- Moderate number of complex compensation plans.
- Acts as "Help Desk" personnel working with various members of the sales organization to research issues and discrepancies associated with commission/bonus payouts, sales reporting, alignments, compensation plans, etc.
- Assist Sales customers in reconciliation of sales credit and commission as required.
- Act as secretary of the sales compensation committee. The committee is comprised of high level leadership.
- Build, run and distribute requested ad hoc sales reports as requested.
- Analyze sales data, customer data, commission history, compensation plans, and other key metrics.
- Use queries and Business Objects reporting tools to create sales reports and analyze data.
- Complete thorough testing and validation of year over year compensation plan changes ensuring incentive calculations are working appropriately in the ICM for the new plan year.
- Manage and maintain all appropriate incentive compensation policies and SOPs creating new policies or making updates to existing policies when necessary. Execute annual review of documentation.
- Act as senior consultant for the compensation team across divisions, business units and cross-functionally.
- Subject matter expert of commission process and POC when Manager is unavailable.
- Functional Lead in support of implementation of third party.
- Work with IT to program commission system, prioritize projects and troubleshoot projects.
- Configure more complex system set up and maintain compensation plan components.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required.
- Minimum 5-7 years of Sales Compensation Finance Accounting or related experience
Preferred:
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and organization skills,
- Detail oriented,
- Ability to work in a team environment, and
- Excellent understanding of technical systems and logic.
