Senior Trade Compliance Controls Specialist

Job Description

To support OCA’s compliance with trade regulations by assisting with the implementation of OCA’s Trade Compliance Framework with primary responsibilities for developing trainings and risk assessments.

Job Duties

* Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the department and coordinate with department heads to implement trade controls in their SOPs and Work Instructions.

 

* Drive continual improvement initiatives within OCA’s Import and Export and CTPAT compliance programs

 

* Develop trade compliance trainings on import and export regulations and processes

 

* Identify gaps in internal controls and develop processes to mitigate risk and close gaps.

 

* Develop risk assessment matrices

 

* Conduct risk assessments, monitoring and testing of trade compliance controls

 

* Provide consultation to OCA business units on complex trade scenarios

 

* Stay abreast of changes in the regulatory environment and advise OCA as necessary

 

* Work with IT and Trade professionals to drive continuous automation efforts

 

* Other responsibilities as needed

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* College Degree required.

 

* Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working with the US Customs, Census and Export Administration Regulations Licensed customs broker a plus Proficiency with ACE required.

 

* Requires knowledge of both import and export processes.

 

* Candidate must be a US Person (US Citizen or Green Card).

 

* Travel 30%.

* Excellent research and analytical skills.

 

* Excellent writing skills and effective verbal communication skills.

 

* Proficient in Microsoft office.
