Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Statistical Data Analyst to Join Olympus’ QA CI Team. This role will be a good fit for someone with a passion for data and data visualization to help analyze system data and find actionable trends. This role will include statistical process control, capability analysis, big data analysis, data visualization and machine learning responsibilities across our development and product assurance teams.
Job Duties
- Navigate large complex datasets to produce descriptive analysis, correlations, and insights.
- Design, develop and optimize effective machine learning models.
- Conduct ad-hoc data analysis and innovation around data visualization.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business goals and priorities, and the role data plays in achieving them.
- Identify gaps in existing data collections and proactively work to fill them.
- Present analyses and recommendations to cross functional stakeholders for decision making in presentation.
- Analyzing data and present data through reports that aid decision-making.
- Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
- Understanding what our customers need to create visual outputs, help the data engineers onsite understand what needs to be done to get from data collection to visual output.
- Data modeling and creating dashboards, wrangle data to make visual tools, and clean data in a way to facilitate data analytics.
- Leverage a variety of communication tools and techniques to communicate global results
- Develop and manage plans to achieve objectives, and plans resource requirements for projects
- Exercise foresight and judgement utilizing comprehensive breadth of knowledge and prior work experience with statistical data analysis.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- BS in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or in other quantitative disciplines related to the Medical Device industry.
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience in a medical device, pharma, or other regulated industry with a BS degree, 6 years with a MS degree, and 2 years with a PhD in a related field.
- Experience in working with Complaint/MDR data.
- Competent with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Visio, Adobe, Adobe Sign, Agile and Windows platforms.
- Experience with Python and/or R programming and data science tools.
- Competent with statistical methods, data mining techniques, and basic machine learning concepts.
- Expert in Statistical Process Control, Capability Studies, and Gage R&R analysis
- Expert in data analysis tools and techniques, including SQL, Excel, and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Minitab).
- Applies technical and functional knowledge to design and independently execute experiments/projects, contributing to the overall direction of projects.
- Acts as a technical SME for Statistical Data Analysis
- Position is remote, with expected travel to US, Japan, EU, and APAC regions approximately 5-10%.
Preferred:
- Working experience with 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13485 and other applicable regulations is preferred
- Ability to collect and synthesize data
- Strong skills in collaborating, developing strong working relationships, and demonstrating leadership and project management capabilities within a matrixed organization environment
- Bias for action, impeccable organizational skills, critical thinking, solutions-oriented, attentive to detail
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
