Job Description

This leadership role is responsible for managing the Post Market Surveillance (PMS) Analytics and Insights function, including a team of complaint Data Analysts responsible for development, maintenance, validation and continuous improvement of analytical tools, dashboards, reporting systems and methodologies supporting complaint handling, vigilance and PMS processes. Responsible for PMS metrics, executive reporting, workforce balancing analytics and business insights. Accountable for maintaining and validating analytics tools used by trending teams but not for performing complaint trending activities.

 

Job Duties

  • Lead and develop the PMS Analytics and Insights team, including direct management of five Data Analysts; provide coaching, work direction, prioritization, workload balancing, and performance input to ensure effective delivery of analytics services. 
  • Own PMS metrics, dashboards, scorecards, executive reporting, and business insights used to monitor complaint handling, vigilance, operational performance, capacity, transformation priorities, and leadership decision-making. 
  • Define, maintain, validate, and govern analytics tools, data sets, reporting logic, calculation methodologies, data definitions, and documentation practices to ensure PMS analytics outputs are accurate, consistent, compliant, and inspection-ready. 
  • Provide workforce balancing models, capacity views, scenario assessments, root cause-oriented analysis, and other actionable insights to support PMS leadership decisions on priorities, staffing, process improvement, and risk escalation. 
  • Partner with Complaint Handling, Vigilance, Trending, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, IT, regional teams, and business stakeholders to translate operational needs into analytics requirements, scalable reporting solutions, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Manage analytics intake, resources, deliverables, and cross-functional dependencies while driving automation, self-service reporting, improved data architecture, and emerging analytics capabilities appropriate for a regulated environment; maintain clear boundaries between analytics enablement and functional ownership of complaint trending decisions and records. 

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in engineering, finance, business, economics or similar quantitative fields.
  • Minimum of 8 years of overall relevant experience with a 4 years people management experience in a combination of data and analytics projects, R&D sustaining projects or operations inclusive of quality projects, portfolio management and analysis and/or business process development.
  • Financial and business acumen and mindset are required.
  • Advanced mastery of Microsoft Office (Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical and complex problem-solving skills with proven expertise in creating reports and tools to analyse and evaluate data using Excel, pivot tables, queries, equations, etc.
  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple data sources, draw relevant and actionable conclusions, and handle multiple projects simultaneously with minimal direction.
  • Proven track record of developing and communicating data analysis insights and results to assist decision-making for leadership.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and planning skills; strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent time management & project management skills.
  • Motivated individual with the ability to work independently and in teams on tasks and projects with limited supervision and with a high degree of personal initiative and drive.
  • Ability to support global meetings / discussions (e.g., schedule flexibility to support meetings with teams in Germany (CET) and Japan (JST)).

 

Preferred:

  • PMP Certification a plus.
  • Prior project management knowledge and expertise preferred.
  • Medical device experience preferred.
  • Global experience interfacing with offshore teams and initiatives is preferable.
  • Experience working in an international matrixed organization with great collaboration skills preferred.
  • Advanced capabilities in visualization BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) and Portfolio tools (Sensei IQ) preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position in this location is $94,580.00 - $132,412.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). 

 

Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position, including level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
