Senior Demand and Inventory Planner

Job Description

The Senior Demand and Supply Chain Planner is responsible for ensuring high service level to customers while achieving supply chain goals. He/ she will work with marketing to forecast anticipated demand and partner with manufacturing to ensure that supply supports demand and achieves production efficiency. They are also responsibile for maintaining an optimized inventory level that balances service level and cost.

Job Duties

* Review statistical forecast and collaborate with regional marketing and finance to update forecast based on market intelligence and product life cycle. Incorporate market event forecast not reflected in historical sales

* Understand new product forecast drivers. Ensure that key drivers and product cannibalization is incorporated in forecast

* Support budgeting process by identifying drivers and reconciling discrepancies between actuals, S&OP plans and Budget

* Perform analyses of trend data and adjust safety stocks as required consistent with established  safety stock policy

* Place replenishment orders with manufacturing/suppliers to achieve inventory target at regional Distribution Center

* Ensure high customer service level by projecting potential supply shortages and expedite delivery with manufacturing/suppliers to avoid backorder. Develop & track recovery plans

* Communicate supply issues and recovery to key internal stakeholders. Allocate inventory to downstream distribute centres as needed

* Verify Net Requirements changes with downstream demand planners. Reconcile imbalances between mid/long range Global Net Requirements and production capacity to ensure product supply

* Segregate and allocate inventory versions to mitigate global supply risk and ensure compliance to respective countries' regulatory approval and implementation timeline for changes such as design change, process change etc

* Perform analysis and provide input to launch supply strategy and decisions in partnership with global launch team and downstream supply chain

* Work with upstream launch team to ensure that new product master data is setup and product released on time to support downstream distribution centres launch timeline

* Provide input to product rationalization analysis and manage Phase-in-phase-out with consideration to global demand and supply

* Lead global demand review, supply review and support or lead portions of S&OP meeting discussions

* Support continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency for SC group by optimizing system setup, business processes and group reporting


* Write SOPs and perform training as required


Job Requirements



* Bachelor's degree required


* Minimum 5-7 years of experience in demand planning and/or supply network planning


* Ability to travel - 10%




* APICS certification and Master preferred 


* Experience utilizing ERP systems, Oracle/SAP/Rapid Response

* Expert at utilizing statistical forecasting software

* Strong Spreadsheet, database, powerpoint and BI Reporting system skills 

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills   

* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others in cross functional environment 

*  Detail oriented

* Ability to multi-task
