Job Description

The Data Domain Specialist orchestrates and executes master data delivery across the enterprise by coordinating with the Data Custodians, Data Steward and the overall Data Domain Owner. This role will work with the Data Lead to manage the data flows between systems and processes. The Data Domain Specialist will help drive forward continuous improvement of data management standards, engage with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with all data related governance and assurance policies, processes, and protocols.

Job Duties

  • Data Management Activities:
    • Work with the Data Lead to drive the end-to-end process for managing master data including checking, loading, rationalizing and implementing corrections, updates, improvements and expansions to the master data, in coordination with data custodians and data stewards.
    • Contribute to the development of actionable reporting that monitors and pinpoints data requirements and challenges
    • Support in the analysis and enrichment of master data elements and optimizing the flow of data between users and stakeholders.
    • Examine the data management-related activities to propose and plan initiatives that optimize processes and capabilities to ensure data services are operated, monitored, supported, and maintained.
    • Create, implement, and maintain master data solutions and services continually satisfying policies and framework sets including SLAs and KPIs.
    • Work closely with the business, providing advice in how it can leverage master data to support strategic goals.
  • Data Governance Activities:
    • Work with the Data Lead to develop data policies and practices to ensure the integrity, security, safety, and availability of all forms of data and data structures.
    • Research the latest Data Management best practices, principles and processes and monitor adherence, proposing any remediation actions needed.
    • Design and implement solutions to ensure data consolidation and cleansing from across the organization into a single, consistent data storage platform.
  • Master data management Activities:
    • Work with tools for uploading and sharing of product/ customer master data.
    • Create and deliver the product/ customer data curation processes including negotiation and change management of data creation with appropriate meta data and embedding of new processes to standardize product/ customer data.
    • Responsible (as a strategic owner of the data) for ensuring product/ customer data generated is of the appropriate quality to enable re-use across the organization.
    • Use the set data management standards and practices including data governance, data quality and master/meta data management to improve the use of data across the organization.
    • Work with the Data Lead to maintain and own the product/ customer data and traceability mappings, in coordination with data custodians and data stewards.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics, Information Systems, Statistics, Applied Math, Business Administration (or equivalent and related experience preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in data warehousing.
  • Deep understanding of master data management data governance, and associated technologies.
  • Extensive experience of owning/working with customer or product data and traceability mappings (in a Global setting, preferred).
  • Experience in working in an Agile IT environment would be a preference.

  • Ability to analyze and resolve data incidents and problems.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrable analytical and conceptual thinking.
  • Detail orientated.
