Job Description

This position is responsible for the supervision and coordination of QA Technicians performing acceptance activities to receive approve products and daily supplier quality functions. This includes the acceptance and rejection of all vendor supplied material and sub assemblies requiring inspection. This person will also maintain and organize all data collection used in support of daily weekly and monthly quality indicators and reporting.

Job Duties


Provide leadership to QA Technicians setting priorities and maintaining efficiencies of the department.


*  Provide inspection training as needed among inspection staff and new hires.


*  Responsible for all receiving and first lot inspection activities as related to vendor supplied materials i.e. lamp processing, cable assembly and parts recovery.


*  Perform supplier evaluation activities in cooperation with Purchasing, Engineering and Operations to ensure that all purchased or otherwise received products and services conform to specified requirements.


*  Conduct periodic supplier product process and systems audits to assure compliance with established product specifications and quality system requirements.


*  Coordinate and prioritize all receiving acceptance and inspection activities to achieve daily targets and ensure the completeness and accuracy of all inspection activities.


*  Investigate quality discrepancies and determine final disposition of all vendor supplied product and supporting documentation.


*  Initiate preventative and corrective action activities.


*  Ensure all inspection standards, tools and equipment is of the latest revision and properly maintained and calibrated.


*  Compile and maintain all daily, weekly, and monthly quality data collection and reporting activities used in support of measuring vendor performance and monthly quality report generation.


*  Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements




*  Two year technical education or equivalent knowledge in the Medical or Life Science Industry desired.


*  Minimum of three (3) years' supervisory experience working in a QA related field.


*  Must be able to handle several tasks at one time, possess effective problem solving skills and able to work with limited supervision.


*  Excellent written and oral communication skills required.




*  Enjoy contributing to a diverse group as a team player.


*  Able to embrace change. Identifies opportunities for operational efficiency and collaborates with management on implementing changes.


*  Must be a highly organized, self-managed individual who works with minimum supervision and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.


*  Able to lift 20 pounds.
