Job Description

The Product Manager, GI Software Solutions, is responsible for the product management and marketing of Olympus' image management and reprocessing software solutions for the gastroenterology and respiratory (GI&R) markets, including the Unifia Reprocessing Documentation & Asset Management System, VaultStream/Knowledge Exchange Content Management Solution (VSS/KE) and the nCare medical recorder platform. They are responsible for all aspects of the product lifecycle including: market development, upstream input to new product development, new product launch and managing the post launch business. Additionally, the GI Software Solutions Product Manager will also be responsible for executing on the commercial launch of Olympus’ future products including Artificial Intelligence, Value Added Services and Endoscopy Workflow Management software platforms. The GI Software Solutions Product Manager is responsible for the commercial success of their assigned product lines. The individual supports organizational objectives by defining and executing marketing strategies and tactics, including promotions, advertising, collateral, and all other marketing activities, under the direction of the Marketing Director. The Product Manager must work independently with limited supervision and will be responsible for managing complex problems. In addition to traditional product management responsibilities for Unifia, VSSKE and nCare portfolios, the Product Manager will work with peers in GI&R Marketing, Surgical Endoscopy, Systems Integration, Service Marketing and Enterprise Solutions to ensure messaging, positioning and pricing models are aligned for all image management software products across the various Olympus divisions

Job Duties

* Participate in the development of long and short-term marketing plans and strategies to increase revenue, maximize profit, and grow market share for assigned product lines. This includes commercial business plans and competitive strategy development, pricing analysis, sales/revenue forecasts, analysis of distribution / channel opportunities, and inventory / product portfolio management.

 

* Execute the commercial business plan including: (1) the launch of new products, (2) development of value propositions and messaging, (3) communication of key selling messages using all available and relevant channels, and (4) development and execution of clinical & healthcare economics strategies to differentiate company products.

 

* Work cross-functionally with Sales and Marketing leadership to establish sales strategy, targeting, and promotion of assigned product lines.

 

* Track and evaluate success of the commercial business plan by monitoring and reporting on KPIs. Monitor competitive trends and activities and pivot strategies as needed.

 

* Act as a project manager and provide direction to the product launch team through all phases of product launch. This includes coordinating activities of all internal and external groups, assuring that all launch criteria are met and that all marketing and sales materials are available

 

* Conduct field work as needed, including (1) Organizing and conducting workshops to promote the sale of the product, (2) Partnering with customers to present the product to other potential customers, (3) Providing meeting and trade show support, (4) Attending industry conventions to meet with clinical and IT stakeholders to stay current with developments in the field.

 

* Manage market research and customer feedback to develop strategies and tactics to drive business. Provide voice of customer (VOC) feedback to product development teams including quantifying and prioritizing customer needs.

 

* Identify and maintain relationships with Health Care Professionals following OAI’s code of ethics and compliance guidelines.

 

* Other relevant duties as required

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Information Technology or related field. Master's Degree or MBA preferred. 

 

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales and/or Marketing, preferably within the IT or software industry.

 

* Experience evaluating a given market and assessing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities & threats, and implementing strategies.

 

* Experience managing complex projects to successful completion.

 

* Ability to travel domestically (30-40%), including overnight travel

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* • Experience in IT/Software sales and/or marketing, strongly preferred.

 

* Demonstrated ability to analyze business performance utilizing KPI measurements, trend reporting and other financial metrics.

 

* Strong prospecting skills, self-starter, capable of independent actions, detail-oriented, multi-tasking and time management.

 

* Ability to understand technical concepts, products & services and effectively communicate the value & details to non-technical audiences.

 

* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills including interactions with sales, senior leadership and customer personnel.

 

* Experience in interacting with a diverse cross-functional team and ability to effectively communicate with overseas and non-US colleagues.

 

* Excellent computer skills and knowledge, including Microsoft Office and business reporting tools.

 

* Ability to work in a matrix environment and motivate cross-functional resources to drive business results.

 

* Strong planning and organizational skills.
