Job Description

The Manager, Diversity & Inclusion is responsible for leading the Olympus Diversity & Inclusion strategy throughout the Americas region. The incumbent will develop processes, proposals, education and socialization designed to promote, support and sustain diversity objectives. This position will be a positive influence on executive leadership, and effectively partner with management at all levels to execute the broader diversity strategy including opportunities for advancement of diverse individuals and provide support on initiatives; act as a liaison between different business units and HR. The Diversity & Inclusion Manager will provide guidance and support to the Colleague Affinity Networks and ensure alignment with overall diversity strategy and business objectives. The incumbent will represent Olympus as a liaison with external contacts including community leaders and diversity focused organizations.

Job Duties

As a Manager, Diversity and Inclusion working on the Human Resources team, you will be empowered and inspired to do your best work. You will contribute to our mission by driving the strategies around our commitment to cultivating an inclusive work environment, building a diverse workforce, and engaging our leadership as champions. In a typical day, you will:

* Collaborate with leadership on the adoption of strategic and tactical D&I plans ensuring that the overall plans align to the business needs.


* Lead established business unit task forces by working with leads to execute on project plan and develop long term view.  Identify opportunities and establish additional business unit or corporate councils or task forces.

* Support the infrastructure and governance of Olympus Colleague Affinity Networks (CAN). This includes updating guidelines, processes and budgets to help advance the growth and development of the CANs across all entities within the Americas.

* Lead the development and execution of the Olympus diversity and inclusion strategy that fosters a diverse and inclusive workforce; identify and engage corporate diversity partnerships, leverage AAP and D&I data to outline baseline and goals, evaluate results and adjust strategies/tactics as needed.  Responsible for developing and executing strategies to advance diverse workforce representation including but not limited to diverse slates, leadership and HR team buy in and support to operationalize strategies.

* Collaborate with stakeholders in Human Resources to drive initiatives including: building a diverse and inclusive talent pipeline with Talent Acquisition, talent management and training programs with Learning & Development, best practices/trends/guidelines with HR Business Partners across the company and track progress and share best practices within the scope of Diversity and Inclusion
* Partner with Communications to create and execute communications strategy including: leverage our survey platform to execute an inclusion survey, update current internal and external websites and resources, continue D&I newsletter and podcasts.   

* Present to respective business leaders and business groups using data analytics dashboards including: AAP and D&I data, metrics and strategies; engaging leaders in their respective businesses on driving our commitment within their employee groups.

* Drive the goals of the diversity and inclusion strategic plan by pursuing organizational certifications/awards and participating or leading internal and external benchmarking and surveys

* Remain current with trends through networking and participating in committees within the diversity and inclusion community; understand latest developments in management, leadership, and organizational development with relation to D&I.

Job Requirements


* Bachelor’s Degree required.  Major in Human Resources, Business or Communications preferred.


* Minimum of 5 years of experience in Diversity and Inclusion initiatives or equivalent HR Business Partner experience, with demonstrated success in leading and/or actively participating in corporate Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.


* Ability to travel to other locations.



* Experience in project management and implementing Diversity and Inclusion or Human Resources initiatives in a large corporation; and previous experience launching and managing new Diversity and Inclusion programs is preferred.

* Proven ability to engage and influence employees at all levels of  an organization.

* Ability to break down problems and gain understanding to make effective decisions.


* Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.

* Ability to partner collaboratively with other functional areas to accomplish objectives.

* Work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

* Ability to formulate a vision and strong follow-through.
