Job Description

The IT PMO Center of Excellence Lead (CoE) is accountable for establishing, maintaining and enforcing and enterprise-wide project, program, and portfolio management excellence across the IT organization. This role drives and maintains the PMO methodology (waterfall, agile and hybrid) resource capacity, PM standards and tools that ensure predictable and consistent delivery, strategic alignment, and measurable value realization across the IT investment portfolio.

 

The IT PMO COE lead partners closely with PPM Governance, portfolio leads, product leaders, and business stakeholders to enable consistent delivery outcomes while supporting multiple delivery models (agile, waterfall, and hybrid).

Job Duties

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve the IT PMO Center of Excellence vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Establish and maintain the PMO operating model, including portfolio management, project execution, delivery standards, and decision frameworks.
  • Ensure alignment between IT strategy, business priorities, and investment outcomes.

 

Standards, Methodology & Governance

  • Own enterprise Project Management delivery standards, frameworks, templates, and best practices across IT project execution.
  • Define scalable governance models appropriate for:
    • Agile and product-based delivery
    • Large transformation and ERP initiatives
    • Infrastructure and cybersecurity programs
    • Create and support portfolio review process

 

Portfolio Performance & Insights

  • Establish enterprise KPIs and performance metrics (delivery health, financials, capacity, value realization).
  • Drive data quality, consistency, and transparency across all IT portfolios.
  • Provide executive-level dashboards and insights to IT leadership and business sponsors.

 

Change Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Embed organizational change management and benefits realization into IT delivery practices.
  • Conduct PMO maturity assessments and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Other responsibilities / duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT, Project Management or Business Management (or equivalent and related experience preferred).
  • Project Management Professional Certification required (PMP). Scaled Agile Certifications preferred – SAFe SA, CSM, CSPO, etc.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of working experience as a PMO leader in the IT sector.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of leading large teams (indirect or direct people management of team members).
  • Proven track record of successfully driving and delivering end-to-end large complex scaled IT solutions/ projects or system implementations projects.
  • Solid leadership background, with understanding or hands-on experience in portfolio, project and program leadership
  • Extensive experience with creation of and working with project and end to end project lifecycle management.
  • Solid experience in stakeholder engagement practices.
  • Solid experience with MS Project/ MS Planner, Jira, Office 365.
  • Proven project planning and organization skills with key attention to budget and resource management.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate critical-thinking skills.
  • Demonstrable organizational skills.
  • Demonstrable soft skill and high emotional intelligence.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position is $141,361.00 - $212,041.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). This pay range represents the National Average of the range, and may vary depending on the location of the individual. 

 

Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position, including level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
