Job Description

The Business Partner is the senior representative for Global IT in the sub-region, bringing the global voice of IT to the business and vice versa. The role is intended to deliver a global “multiplier effect” by driving collaboration and coordination across IT functions as well as through the sub-region. They will provide the IT teams based in the sub-region with a local leader, someone they can look to who is leading in the sub-region overall and building the IT community. 

Job Duties

  • Represent Global IT at local ExCo meetings as appropriate (bridge between IT and the Business)​.
  • Act as point of contact for major incidents/security incidents for senior executives and senior business leaders.
  • Support the Global IT Leadership to help manage and coordinate the transition to operating in the new target global IT organization.
  • Help drive a positive colleague engagement, support onboarding to new global roles and identify opportunities for upskilling and development.
  • Raise any issues or challenges and proactively propose and implement solutions with Global IT Leadership team.
  • Understand the sub-region / business division strategy and priorities, and drive alignment with the Global IT strategy and portfolio.
  • Ensure that sub-region demands & priorities are reflected in the global functional roadmap & IT Portfolio​.
  • Ensure that IT is well represented in Regional and Global Project Portfolio Meetings.
  • Support demand shaping in the sub-region markets and ensure that the demand goes into the right channels and processes​.
  • Represent sub-region priorities and communicate relative importance of requests from regions as part of the global discussions.
  • Facilitate local roll-out of global projects to make sure these are fit for the sub-regions and delivered effectively.
  • Coordinate with region BRMs to provide input to overall region demand.
  • Oversee and assure delivery to make sure that the services are being delivered to the business (coordinate across the global functions on behalf of the business) .
  • Ensure services delivered by IT are delivered well and working and that IT services are blending in the region​.
  • Coordinate delivery across the global functions on behalf of the business​.
  • Facilitate local rollout of global projects to make sure these are fit for the regions and delivered effectively​.
  • Participate in Regional Service Performance Review Meetings as appropriate.
  • Monitor Regional IT Services/Performance delivery​.
  • Raise performance issues/escalations to Functional Head or Global IT Leadership Team​.
  • Drive improvement in services aligned to critical customer requirements (cross-functional view)​.
  • Manage Senior Management escalations.
  • Input into the region business-technology strategy (incl. roadmap, plan)​.
  • Support execution of the business-technology strategy.
  • Driving overall adoption of tools, application and emerging technologies in the sub-region​.
  • Driving cross-functional understanding of IT trends, technologies and good practice.
  • Lead, motivate and develop team members so that their individual and collective performance is of the required standard and meets the current and future needs of the business.  
  • Approve MBO, vacation requests, sign-off for IT locally from a legal/regulation perspective where appropriate and required.
  • Coordinate/support IT audit requests as required.
  • Support business end users with adoption of solutions and manage organization change.
  • Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and technologies to enhance personal productivity, streamline workflows, and improve decision-making.
  • Proactively identify and champion opportunities to integrate AI solutions that deliver measurable business value, innovation, and competitive advantage in the sub-region.
  • Serve as an AI educator and advisor to senior executives and business colleagues, driving awareness and responsible adoption of AI capabilities across the organization.
  • Duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minium of 10 or more years in IS/IT and business/industry.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience in business/industry (beyond IS/IT), managing cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership capability, executing as appropriate in the areas of responsibility.
  • Expertise in budget planning, financial management and workforce management.
  • Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions, and strategic application to business needs, including the ability to differentiate between a relevant trend and hype.
  • Ability to improve operational efficiency, service delivery and information management across the IS/IT organization.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others.
  • Demonstrable business and tech acumen.
  • Detail orientated.
