Job Description

The Director, Human Resources – Global Business Services (GBS) is a leadership position responsible for managing all aspects of the HR GBS organization, for the Americas Region.  This role will be responsible for the identification, prioritization, and optimization of an effective service delivery organization.  Will serve as lead for all GBS HR functional teams including Payroll, HR Service Center, and Learning Technologies and represent Olympus Corporation of the Americas in the development and operation of a Global Shared Services network.  

Job Duties

* Responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and delivery of GBS-HR services. 
 

* Responsible for the processing, transmission and overall management of multiple payrolls encompassing Olympus employees in the Americas.   
 

* Accountable for the integrity of the payroll data in the HRIS system. 
 

* Ensures payroll updates are timely and accurately prepared.  
 

* Partners with Finance the coordination of the General Ledger.

 

* Provides payroll and tax expertise in the processing of Inpat earnings and deductions in partnership with Global Mobility, Tax and external tax vendors.  
 

* Responsible for the overall HR Service Center operations


* Maintaining responsibility for the oversight of staffing and management of the HR Service Center, including but not limited to call volume and issue resolution management, meeting service level agreements.
 

* Providing strategic direction and guidance to staff in the areas of:  New Hire Orientation (NHO), time and attendance, data entry, background verifications and reporting.
 

* Maintaining responsibility for HR data meeting JSox requirements and partners with auditors when performing auditors to complete JSox audits.
 

* Responsible for the LMS content and execution of all digital training programs with primary focus on medical business units. 

* Leads the operational areas of eLearning for all corporate training initiatives to include but not limited to continuous quality assessment for the purpose of system and technology improvements and necessary revisions to training data management.

 

* Research and implement best practices from the HR and Shared Service industry focused on improving the employee experience and standardization and automation of processes

* Lead and manage cross-functional projects to improve GBS operations and optimize service delivery.

 

* Design, implement and monitor metrics and KPIs and report effectiveness of processes and systems; benchmark against industry best practice

* Liaise with key stakeholders, including but not limited to, HR, HRIS, IT, Finance in the execution of process improvements and optimization of operations. 

* Performs other related duties as required.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, HR or a related field and minimum 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including four 4 years of leadership. 

 

* Minimum 10 years relevant work experience in a Shared Services environment

 

* Thorough and current knowledge of Federal, multi-state (including California) and local pay and tax laws and practices.

 

*  Demonstrated project management experience required.

 

* Superior analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to identify problems and systematically gather data, identify root causes and address data integrity issues required.

 

* Must be able to travel internationally as position may require.
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

* Proficiency with HCM systems, such as HRIS ERPs (SAP), Service Desk Express (SDE), Right Answers, Call Management Systems (CMS). ADP Enterprise and ADP Tax required.  SuccessFactors HCM and ADP Canada experience preferred

 

* Highly proficient with report writing software.

 

* Prior integration, merger/acquisition or ERP implementation experience a plus.

 

* Leadership skills with the ability to influence, build relationships, collaborate and manage high priority items, adjusting to shifting priorities to deliver projects on time.

 

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
