Job Description

Responsible for ensuring that HR policies and regulated processes throughout Olympus Corporation of the Americas (OCA) and its affiliated companies in the U.S. Canada and Latin America are compliant with applicable employment/labor laws OCA policies and internal HR processes and standard operating procedures. Maintains and enhances an HR compliance program designed to identify risk ensure adherence with all applicable requirements as well as mitigate loss and protect the company. As part of this will collaborate with members of HR business groups internal and external auditors and in house and outside counsel on all compliance initiatives processes and audits relating to HR.

Job Duties

* Track employment-related federal, state, and local legal and regulatory requirements and manages implementation.

 

* Manage the company’s affirmative action program activities. Maintain, compile data, and file AAP Certification, EEO-1, VETS 4212, and CA Pay Report.

 

* Provide actionable Metrics/Reporting design to drive overall compliance, process improvement initiatives.

 

* Engage in strategic long-term planning by developing goals for the HR compliance function.

 

* Develop annual schedule of audits for selected HR processes and conducts audits on same.

 

* Serve as key driver for HR process/policy owners as well as OCA’s Legal staff to ensure that HR policies and processes follow applicable employment/labor laws. 

 

Monitor on-going background screening. Administer the Integrity Hotline using NAVEX.

 

* Responsible for maintaining anti-harassment workplace compliance through education for managers and human resources and working with Learning Management Solutions.

 

* Attend Internal Investigations Committee meetings, preparing necessary case summaries.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree required.

 

A minimum of 5 years in a Compliance or Audit role required; 2 years of HR Business Partner experience in a large corporate environment preferred.

 

May require travel up to 15% of schedule.
 

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

HR Professional certification (SHRM-CP or PHR) preferred.

 

* Individual must be flexible, a self-starter, team oriented, and capable of multi-tasking.

 

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

* High level of detail-orientation.

 

* High level of proficiency with SAP HCM and MS Excel, including the ability to parse employee data and produce reports and KPIs as needed.

 

* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a “matrixed” environment, while working independently.

 

* Must have a general working knowledge of state and federal employment / labor laws and statutes, including but not limited to FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and other DOL regulations.

 

* Ability to manage outside counsel and vendors in both a time and cost-efficient manner.

 

* Ability to partner with internal HR team members, business leaders, and in-house counsel to drive compliance and HR-related projects forward.
