Job Description

The Global Category Lead, Travel and Fleet, will lead all aspects associated with negotiation, acquisition, and management of the travel and fleet programs for Olympus.

 

This key leader has the critical responsibility of developing and aligning category strategies with business partners needs across the enterprise and identifying and managing a supply base to drive growth & profitability across all Olympus’ BU's.  This position is responsible for supporting and defining the future state of T&E process and policy, and setting Olympus’ global strategies using country specific knowledge and requirements. The role moves through a process consisting of design, architecture, implementation, go-live and steady state.  A constant focus on continuous improvement, strategic alignment, cost containment and standardization of processes and reporting is vital.

 

The scope of the role includes oversight of the Global T&E Policy, Concur Expense and Travel Systems, Travel Management Company (TMC) optimization, Fleet Management Company (FMC) optimization, Fleet OEM, Air, Hotel and Ground Transportation contracts/relationships. This position will also set and monitor long and short-term trends, by identifying the key drivers that influence price to create a sustainable competitive advantage to the long-term success of Olympus.

 

Reporting to the Global Head, Central Purchasing, the Global Category Lead for Travel and Fleet will interact with Corporate and BU leadership, supporting corporate and business functions, legal, strategic business partners and procurement leadership.

Job Duties

* Leads the planning, design, implementation, communication and delivery of Olympus’ Travel and Fleet strategies and policies across all business groups and regions around the world.

 

* Actively partners with and influences stakeholders and suppliers at the Executive level on a regular basis.

 

* Leads supplier management, sourcing, and negotiations for all Travel (airlines, hotels, ground transportation) and Fleet (Fleet Management, Leasing, OEMs) suppliers.

 

* Manages Olympus’ outsourced Travel Agency and Fleet Management to ensure they deliver operational excellence.

 

* Build and maintain the strategic plan and associated deliverables for the Fleet function, vendor strategy, lease versus buy analysis, maintenance programs, negotiating with key suppliers and fuel management.

 

* Partners with various internal organizations (Security, HR, etc.) to ensure the safety of all travelers.

 

* Collaborate with individuals across a spectrum of the business to ensure Policy / Process / Procedure / System decisions take account of regional variances and business needs.

 

* Partner with IT to identify integration points between existing systems and processes.

 

* Represent the T&E business process at global/regional budget sessions to ensure all business requirements are considered, documented and incorporated into global strategy; challenge customization requests based on existing models and processes.

 

* Deliver on annual financial and non-financial targets for the portfolio regionally or globally, including cost savings.

 

* Collaborate closely with Regional teams as to identify areas of improvement, market and suppliers’ knowledge, and follow-up on key contracts.

 

* Ensure Global Central Procurement policies are adhered to with all sourcing activities.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or similar field, or 10+ years of experience in areas of Business, Finance, Travel, Expense Management, Fleet Management or related fields.

 

* Minimum of 5 years working directly in Travel and Expenses.

 

* Ability to travel up to 25%.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

Extensive experience focusing on Travel and Expenses operational management, or T&E change projects.

 

* Extensive experience in SAP Concur, TMC management.

 

* Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), ERP and sourcing systems.

 

* Experience developing and implementing strategies across an enterprise.

 

* Strong project management experience.

 

* Ability to work effectively with all levels of management, all functional areas.

 

* Experience managing and partnering with suppliers as well as internal stakeholders.

 

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent collaboration skill.
