Job Description

The Global Category Lead, Professional Services, will lead all aspects associated with negotiation, acquisition, and management of goods and services for Olympus’ Professional Services. This role has the critical responsibility of developing and aligning category strategies with business partners needs across the enterprise and identifying and managing a supply base to drive growth & profitability across all Olympus’ BU's. The role executes and delivers contracts in support of all Professional Services category projects and purchases globally. The position is responsible for developing, aligning and implementing standard work, tools and templates to support the procurement process while working with regional sourcing managers to leverage global opportunities and suppliers. Reporting to the Head of Global Procurement Center, the Global Category Lead for Professional Services will nteract with Corporate and BU leadership, supporting corporate and business functions, legal, strategic business partners and procurement leadership. Categories include: Consultants, Purchased Service Agreements, Integrated Facility Management, Marketing/Advertising, Human Resources, Contingency Labor MSP program and others as assigned.

Job Duties

* Responsible for creating and assuring strategy development, execution of procurement processes and supplier relationship management for the Professional Services Category. Serves as an active and valued member of sourcing leadership team.

 

* Develop relationships and communication strategies with internal partners to identify business needs and align supply base to achieve strategic direction.

 

* Develop & implement multi-year category strategies with goals to increase spend with preferred suppliers. Provide leadership and oversight of the sourcing process to ensure spend is awarded to provide the maximum value to Olympus.

 

* Lead the development and negotiation of contracts through the contract lifecycle maximizing value while minimizing risk. Partner closely with legal to support efficient contract review, contract negotiation and contract finalization. 

 

* Identifies strategic priorities and removes barriers for the implementation of Professional Services strategies. * Responsible for execution of indirect purchasing process in support of Professional Services requirements.

 

* Develop standard work to support Professional Services purchases. Through development of training and standard work, increase Professional Services procurement team member's capacity and knowledge of Professional Services commodity strategies.

 

* Develop and track metrics to measure success and effectiveness of Professional Services sourcing. Deliver on annual financial and non-financial targets for the portfolio regionally or globally, including cost savings.

 

* Demonstrated experience in working in cross-functional teams across multiple continents. Collaborate closely with Regional teams as to identify areas of improvement, market and suppliers’ knowledge, and follow-up on key contracts.

 

* Ensure Global Procurement Center policies are adhered to with all sourcing activities.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or similar field, or a minimum of 10 years of experience in Procurement, Business, Finance, or required.

* Minimum of 5 years in an indirect procurement function with a global company.

* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in leading Professional Services sourcing initiatives.

* Sourcing experience in the development and management of a global supply base is required.

* Ability to travel up to 25%

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

* Experience developing and implementing strategies across an enterprise

* Demonstrated success includes supplier development across regions, responsibility for high-level negotiations, leading/participating on multi-functional projects, and team development.

* Strong project management experience.

* Ability to work effectively with all levels of management, all functional areas.

* Experience managing and partnering with suppliers as well as internal stakeholders.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent collaboration skills.
